British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is facing growing questions about his pledge to deploy boots on the ground and planes in the air over Ukraine when the UK Armed Forces has seen the number of soldiers dwindle to the lowest since the Napoleonic era and other services hollowed out.
After months of declining support amid domestic failures, Prime Minister Starmer has recently attempted to recast himself as an international leader through the war in Ukraine. The leftist PM has joined with French President Emmanuel Macron — who has also suffered domestically over the past year — in offering up their soldiers to “protect the peace” in case of a conflict-ending deal between Kyiv and Moscow.

He’s a warmonger.
The entire UK army does not have as much gear as a single brigade of the British Army of the Rhine in the late Cold War.
This means we are out of it. Excellent. Keep America dollars working at home.
Lettin’ his mouth write checks his ass can’t cash
Illegals you say?
Man with New York accent on phone to man with British accent and man with French accent:
“Hey Keir! Hey Manny! We’ve got 1 million fighters, many of them gang members, that we can drop off for you. Dover cliffs or Normandy work for you?”
What's worse, he is a warmongering "Marxist in a suit" who is nominally part of the UK "better class."
Elton John proved that anybody could be knighted; Kier Starmer proved that a nobody could be knighted.
How many active duty personnel does the whole British Army and Airforce have compared to the U.S. Army and Airforce personnel posted to Joint Base Lewis McChord near Tacoma, WA?
ChatGPT said:
As of April 1, 2024, the United Kingdom’s Regular Forces comprised approximately 138,120 active-duty personnel, with the distribution across the branches as follows:
British Army: Approximately 75,325 personnel
Royal Navy/Royal Marines: Approximately 30,800 personnel
Royal Air Force (RAF): Approximately 32,000 personnel
STATISTA.COM
In contrast, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) near Tacoma, Washington, hosts a significant number of U.S. Army and Air Force personnel. The base supports over 45,000 service members and civilian workers.
WIKIPEDIA
Specifically, the 62nd Airlift Wing and the 446th Airlift Wing, both based at JBLM, operate a combined fleet of 50 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, providing combat airlift capabilities.

While exact numbers of U.S. Army personnel at JBLM are not specified in the available sources, the base’s substantial personnel count indicates a significant military presence. However, precise comparisons between the total active-duty personnel of the British Army and RAF and the U.S. Army and Air Force personnel specifically assigned to JBLM are challenging due to the lack of detailed public data on U.S. assignments at this installation.
Maybe he just intends to send shoes to Ukraine.
The country that can’t defend its girls against rape gangs is going to take on the Russian bear?

And there it is. 100 years ago the UK was a powerful nation, perhaps #1 on the world stage. What the UK said and did mattered. For better or for worse, those days are long gone.
Starmer seems to want to recreate those days. That’s not possible. It’s kind of pathetic, actually. Tend to matters at home, Mr. Starmer. You’ve got enough problems there.
Starmer thinks he’s Churchill, when he’s really Gordon Brown.
This is fantasyland. An unserious person playing with toy soldiers. The UK could put troops on the ground in Ukraine. But as soon as they engage in hostilities, the UK would be completely unable to deal with that.
Provides good context, FRiend, as your posts almost always do, especially regarding Israel.
Go right ahead Limey’s. Rush into a quagmire foolishly. If you think it will somehow provoke Trump to commit the United States you are sorely mistaken.
So go ahead-rush into that buzz-saw. You will learn a bloody and painful lesson.
Peace is on the table-take the deal.
My concern is that Europeans fighting in The Ukraine will be overwhelmed. I think they will expect America to send our young military men to protect them. I don’t like that scenario.
No, just send of the last of their poor, white working class.
The only boots that GB has available at the moment are Kinky Boots.
What’s the saying? Put up or shut up?
> My concern is that Europeans fighting in The Ukraine will be overwhelmed. <
Starmer is talking about sending peacekeeping forces after a peace treaty is in place. He’s not talking about sending combat forces.
Nevertheless, you’re on the right track. As I mentioned in post #11, the UK simply doesn’t have the manpower or material to do a credible job. Others have mentioned this as well.
So let’s say the UK sends a few troops anyway. And they get hit in a false-flag operation. Then what? Then bad things.
Trump is wise in ruling out American troops. Starmer would be wise in following that lead.
