As somebody that was born and raised (until 16) in the UK, it does make one wonder. All I heard growing up was ‘free country’, ‘bastion of free speech’, and the endless demonization of Thatcher. All leftist claims....while the country and culture still had a resemblance of Christian culture that had defined it for 100’s (or 1000’s) of years.
Of course, Guy Fawkes was a ‘bad guy’ - makes you wonder a little now. Between the monarchy, the ‘democracy’ by elites, and the lack of a Constitution similar to ours, I don’t agree with the claim “but it’s worked for hundreds of years”. Clearly, the people get to vote for hand-picked candidates that have little differentiation. Voting rates plummet because they know it won’t matter whom they vote for, and they’d be right.
The elites hated Brexit, the endless migration invasion is their retaliation for it....regardless of party. The people still don’t seem to realize.
I do believe some see it, mainly the working class because they’re the ones that get clobbered by it. The middle and upper class are nothing but elitist snobs that endlessly virtue signal from their nice homes, unaffected by it. Those that follow Tommy Robinson certainly do. They also know they have no power, both politically or physically, being completely unarmed in a country where ‘waving a knife’ at a home invader is a crime....as is speaking publicly against certain invaders.
It’s nuts. I’m ashamed, as are many in Europe. They clearly do not represent the people and think ‘free speech’ is fine so long as it doesn’t ‘violate the law’, meaning they have none.
So this admin is correct, what are we defending? Just because you’re not North Korea doesn’t mean you’re not engaging in fascism.
And Russia is embracing it? Really??
