So sad to see that happening. They will not last very long.
These disabled young men have no one to advocate or speak up for them. Perhaps in the Ukraine of today, no one is allowed to refuse being drafted, for any reason.

Who is bob_bob_2222 that you trust him enough to believe this is true?

There are outlets reporting that it is false.

And it does seem absurd.

If true then it is the end for Ukraine.

I just don’t know when twitter (now X) because the main and best source for information about all things.

It’s twitter (X)! :)

Just wow.

For the kid’s sake, I hope it’s not true.

His fellow soldiers tried to get him to test for mines and use him to draw out Russian drones? That’s what it says in the video.

I trust him because there is a video attached to his post of a Ukrainian soldier with Down's Syndrome.

The American Thinker considers it credible:

A tale of two groups of handicapped people

They don't at DOGE advertise themselves as a hirer of handicapped people. But they manage to find so much talent in this group, talent that is rarely utilized in many other lines of work. They are the best. And all one can say is 'this is America.'

Compare and contrast to this ugly picture ... unfortunately, in Ukraine.

Yes, they have to have a draft -- they are at war, and don't have enough people, and worse yet, young people are fleeing.

But there's a reason for that -- combat duty in Ukraine is called "a meat grinder" and thousands of young men and women have already been killed. Ukraine's leader, Volodymyr Zelensky, wants more, and he wants both European and American troops to fight this no-win mission. But for now, the handicapped will do.

Maybe there is more to this story beyond this video, but it seems obvious they are taking helpless people and putting them to their worst uses -- combat veteran positions, which require, speed, reflexes and strength, all of which people with Down Syndrome, who may have other talents, do not have.

I feel Zelinsky is no better than hamas and other islmists. They do the same thing with their downs syndrome people. It is truly evil to deliberately exploit them.

I hope they’re using the Down syndrome folks back behind the lines, in kitchens and warehouses.

As for the actual battlefield, I can not think of a single situation there that would be improved by the presence of individuals with Down syndrome.

How do you say “Project 100,000” in Ukrainian?

They put them out there as cannon fodder! Despicable. They probably don’t even have an idea what to expect.

This is a recycled story from late 2023 and early 2024.

January 30, 2024, Propaganda disinformation about the recruitment of people with Down syndrome in Ukraine
April 9, 2024, FACT CHECK | Ukraine's new law does not require the mobilisation of elderly, teenagers and disabled persons (1)

Russian web brigade tactics include the following: Take names, events and ideas already in the news or a few months old, then rewriting them into pro-Russian,-anti Ukraine narratives. Russian disinfo agents take stories like this: How Misha, a 19-Year-Old With Down Syndrome, Escaped Ukraine, then turns around and says Ukraine is putting kids with Down Syndrome on the front lines. Next step, recycle stories every few months. Make them look fresh by putting them on different social media accounts, change the title and the wording a bit, keep the exact same pictures and videos.

Moving from the headlines to the actual story, there is no way to identify the who, when or what something happened. The kid with down syndrome is not wearing any identifiable Ukranian unit ID. There is nothing to identify when and where the person was pushed off the bike and dragged into the van, other than the person posting it says so.

To those who were paying attention to Russian propaganda, this story and the tricks used to promote it were old news a year into the war. Complaining about Ukrainian propaganda and how US news is controlled by the Deep State is no excuse.

In Russia there is no Deep State controlling all forms of mass media because the state does not want the competition. In Russia, the state controls the news and media directly.

Pretty soon they’ll be sending short buses of people from the nursing homes.

Zelensky has a potential army.

Unfortunately for him, many of them are residing in nations not named Ukraine.

If Ukraine is using people with Down’s syndrome as cannon fodder, then they are as bad as Hamas. People who have Down’s syndrome are as innocent as children.
America is in trouble too.
