Abdul Hamid Muhammad Al-Dubiba, the prime minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Tripoli, Libya (the Libyan government that the United Nations recognizes) has told the U.S. government that Libya will take 100,000 to 200,000 refugees from Gaza.
The Libyan offer is the first such proposal to receive Gazan refugees into a Muslim country that President Trump has received after announcing on Wednesday, February 5, in his press conference with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that the United States would take over Gaza, relocate the residents, and rebuild the area as a “Riviera on the Mediterranean.”
This follows Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s decision to reject an open invitation to the White House for talks as long as Palestinian relocation is on President Trump’s agenda. “In Egypt, we have been warned since the beginning of the crisis that what was happening was an attempt to render the Gaza Strip uninhabitable, paving the way for the displacement of the Palestinians,” al-Sisi insisted.
He added, “the displacement of the Palestinian people from their place is an injustice. We cannot condone or be a part of the unjust displacement of Palestinians.” Jordanian King Abdullah II joined al-Sisi in rejecting Trump’s proposal.

No givsies backsies!
Egypt is massively in debt from building their new capital. They’ll come crawling back as soon as other countries like Libya get sweet deals.
Well there ya go.
Send the rest to Somalia.
Just what do they get out of it other than trouble.
“Egypt is massively in debt from building their new capital. They’ll come crawling back as soon as other countries like Libya get sweet deals.”
Given the history of the Palestinians, better for Egypt to go broke. Libya and Somalia, terrorist states, are PERFECT places for the Palestinians as they’ll be right at home bombing each other there.
Thanks to Hillary, Libya is the gateway to Europe.
**Send the rest to Somalia.**
What’s wrong with Haiti? 200k-2 million to go(Gazan’s only).
The palis are largely Egyptian, they got rid of them once. Too bad they’ll have to take some back. Put them in a village in the middle of nowhere. Egypt is 90% empty. After a while they’ll be dead and forgotten.
Good! Ship them directly!
While I’d still recommend that donated and well- guarded Indonesian island (where they’d be secure and securely removed from hurting, murdering any civilized human beings),
Libya is better than nothing.
Pack them up. Pack them off. Now!
Let’s end their satanic terrorism and bloodletting.
Go to Libya so that they get on boats for Europe as refugees?
Viva Libya!
Let em go there
Where you been bro (Lybia)?????
Damn, take a while to check your voicemail much?
The Muslim Brotherhood started in Egypt. They assassinated Sadat, the President of Egypt. They were and are behind many terrorist acts in Egypt. Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt knows what Hamas is and wisely does not want them as do the other Arab nations.
The official and unofficial language of the Arab nations is as follows:
1. Official language, “The Gazans are oppressed by Israel and deserve their own nation and Israel is the evil oppressor.”
2. The unofficial language never spoken in public is, “We hope Israel kills all of Hamas. We do not want the Gazans as they become a threat to our security.”
Odd story about those times when working in Oman.
In November 1977, the president of Egypt Anwar Sadat, visited Jerusalem. The purpose of the visit was to address the Knesset, the legislative body in Israel, to try to advance the Israeli-Arab peace process. Sadat met with senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
Our sponsor in Oman was Sheik Said. He was educated in the West (the UK) and very pro Western. He was also the ex ambassador to the UN for Zanzibar. He spoke English, Arabic, and Swahili fluently.
I was very excited when Sadat went to Israel to speak to the Kinesset. In my clouded vision I saw peace. I was wrong. I spoke with Sheik Said and he did not share my enthusiasm though he admired Sadat greatly. He simply replied to me, “Sadat is a dead man.” He was wise and correct.
I thought it was Jordanian
Yes, Egypt has been selling off land. They ended a territorial dispute over two Islands in the Red Sea with Saudi Arabia, I think for $1 billion in cash. They also took $24 billion for a chunk of land in the north giving Abu Dhabi about 170 sq miles including Mediterranean seafront. I suppose these deals factored into Trump’s proposal. But as you said Egypt is spending much more on “New Cairo” or whatever it will be called; which will contain the new, modern administrative capitol, several military installations, their presidential palace and parliament with of course several upscale housing and shopping districts. I think it will also have a train.
I think Egypt’s main objection has to do with the radicalization of Gaza - they don’t want Islamists. This talk about their rejection of the displacement of Palestinians is more of an excuse imo. After all they had control of Gaza up until 1967 and didn’t want it back after their peace deal at Camp David. Plus Egypt has 115 million population.
Libya is actually a better place overall if Gazans will relocate. It’s far enough away from Israel and Egypt will have a buffer zone - Tel Aviv is closer to Cairo than the Libyan border. And Libya is almost as large a land mass as Egypt but only has around 7 million population, so plenty of room for population growth and development. In fact they need more people to develop the country. This 100k-200k is an opening offer it could possibly increase a lot. Plus Libya also has Mediterranean coastline. If Abu Dhabi (in Egypt) and Gaza will both have massive redevelopment Libya will want to get in on that too. Think of the disparity - the northern side of the Mediterranean is all relatively peaceful and tourists love to go there - Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Greece etc. Now imagine if the other side of the Med could do the same. So surely Libya is thinking about how to attract investment dollars and maybe tourism and/or a commercial hub. These lands could also become much more fertile with desalination and aqueduct projects where Libya could become a much larger agricultural and food exporter. They will need people and dollars for that. So this is a potential win win - except for the die hard Palestinians I imagine if the Gazans were promised financial incentive, a home, land they can own and work etc the non combatant civilians might take the offer voluntarily. It would not be forcible expulsion it would be a deal for the possibility of a better life. They speak the same language, eat basically the same food, pray the same way etc. There would be little culture shock and a lot of potential for a better life. “Go west!” Manifest destiny. Turn the desert into fields of grass. Plus a new large modern city on the Mediterranean; a new commercial hub and a possible larger port to export goods from the entire African continent into Europe.
Now, let’s see what Iraq comes up with. They too have plenty of land and need cash.
