Zelensky Refuses to Apologize After Outburst at Oval Office: ‘Not Sure We Did Something Bad’
Breitbart ^ | February 28, 2025 | Elizabeth Weibel

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that he was “not sure” he “did something bad” during his meeting with President Donald Trump, which resulted in him being kicked out of the White House.

During an interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier, Zelensky was asked if he felt he owed Trump “an apology.” The interview came after Zelensky was kicked out of the White House after making several “disrespectful” comments during a meeting “in front of the media” and ahead of the signing of a minerals deal.

“So, I’m not hearing from you, Mr. President, a thought that you owe the president an apology,” Baier questioned.

“No, I respect president and I respect American people, and if — I don’t know if … I think that we have to be very open and very honest, and I’m not sure we did something bad,” Zelensky answered.

Zelensky’s answer came after Baier stated that Trump said Zelensky had “disrespected him,” Vice President JD Vance, and the American people, and Baier questioned whether or not he felt he was disrespectful.

“President Trump said after your meeting that you disrespected him, and the vice president, and all of America in the Oval Office. Do you think you did, and do you think you owe an apology to President Trump?” Baier questioned.

“I’m very thankful to Americans for all your support. You did a lot,” Zelensky answered. “I’m thankful to President Trump and to Congress’s bipartisan support. And, I was always very thankful from all our people. You helped us a lot from the very beginning during three years of full-scale invasion. You helped us to survive.”

Zelensky is full of revisionist NAZI Ukrainian bs. He has lost his mind. This is Hitler sitting in the bunker in his last days moving imaginary divisions on an imaginary map.

Any further aid from the West to this little lunatic will ensure WWIII.

The minute ZYY stepped out of the car wearing that getup, it was pretty clear it wasn’t going to be a good day for him.

The entire disagreement boils down to President Trump believing that Putin's words are trustworthy, and that Zelensky believing they are not. Everything else flows from that fundamental difference of opinion.

Personally,, on that issue, I think Trump is nuts.

“I mean, it’s not as if Zelenskyyi didn’t have a VERY valid point.”

He may have a good point, but it requires more nuance of diplomacy than can be achieved in front of a bank of flesh eating reporters. That was the time for Zelinsky to express how thankful he is to be a guest of the greatest American president since George Washington. That was the time for him to apologize for having to come begging for American resources to defend his country. That was the time for him to express an obsequious gratitude to this American President who was able to hammer out a deal where nobody is particularly happy and that means it’s probably a pretty good compromise. That was the time for him to swear a mighty oath that he would do everything in his power to achieve a lasting peace so that his country can be an independent nation.

That was not the time for him to air his doubts about security guarantees. And on top of that, I think what we’re also dealing with a language barrier. Zelinsky is trying to speak english through a ukranian oriented language processor. So the point he was trying to make was poorly delivered, and he stepped in it as a result.

“He has been leading pretty well to date. Ukraine still exists.”

That’s thanks to the largesse of you and me. As long as the money is rolling in from chump benefactors, anyone can fake being a good leader.

When Vance was talking to him he muttered, “Suka” which I understand means “Bitch” in Uke/Russian.

“The Democrats whispered sweet nothing in his ear. They are using him to try to turn the tide against Trump.”

And not just any RATs. Obama. Rice. Nuland. That group.

“Zelenski f’ed up by not using a formal interpreter.”

One of the Newsmax reporters reporters said the same thing. English is very nuanced. Still ... the arrogant entitled attitude is not something an interpreter could have helped.

No, you’re nuts.

If we offer the security he desires, foreign troops will have to be on Ukrainian soil. Either NATO or US troops. Thats’s not happening.

We have pissed away 100s of millions on this losing cause. Let Europe take care of them. It’s in their backyard and in their interest.

Trump is 100% correct. If you have a losing hand , take what you can get. If not, go grovel to Europe.

Huh?

If Zelensky has a "good point" that Putin cannot be trusted, then the deal is junk. And if the deal is junk, he'd be insane to accept it gratefully on live TV just to make a good photo op for President Trump.

Also, I disagree that it is a deal where "nobody is particularly happy". I'm pretty sure Putin and the Russians are extremely happy with it. What aren't they getting that they wanted?

“What kind of diplomacy, J.D., are you speaking about? “

When he addressed Vance as “JD” I cringed a little. It seemed too familiar; “Mister Vice President” would’ve been more appropriate IMO. (Vance called ZYY “Mister President”.) I could be off base, but it seemed like one more act of disrespect.

ZYY was experiencing death by a thousand paper cuts; he didn’t do anything right, really.

Hey, if we don't want to offer security guarantees, then we shouldn't. I have no issue with us not doing that.

But then...what exactly is Zelensky getting for all those hundreds of billions in mineral rights?

“America is under no obligation to give him anything,”

In fact, America should be demanding the return of the billions of dollars Biden gave ZYY to finance Mrs. ZYY’s shopping trips and his yacht. He should be paying US now.

“Zelenski f’ed up by not using a formal interpreter. Even though he can speak English, he’s not totally fluent at the intricacies of the language. This is why world leaders use interpreters for such critical, high-level meetings. Doing so allows them to carefully parse their words and think clearly about what is being said.

Most of these world leaders can speak at a minimum conversational English. But when you are meeting presidents to discuss foreign policy, conversational English doesn’t cut it.”

Bingo... Not to defend Z, but that is what I saw too. I have had this happen to me many times working with Serbians, Bosnians, and Russians. The way they parse and more importantly “apply” the English language can cause misunderstandings. They don’t always apply it correctly and it is not always exactly clear in what sense they are using the phrase or word.

But when he said “What Diplomacy?” is where it went south. Question is, was he asking in the spirit of “how are we going to achieve this diplomacy?”, or was he asking this because he didn’t want diplomacy and just wanted more support to keep fighting?

It could have actually been either but the later is how Trump and Vance took it. So you are absolutely right. An interpreter would have made that very important distinction and difference very clear if Z was actually asking in the question in the first sense.

But an interpreter would not have been able to reinterpret his attire as a respectful suit and tie. And I think this was already seen as disrespectful before the meeting ever even started. So it was already off to a bad start.

And I forgot for a second. My "nuts" issue was in reference to a Trump's belief that Putin can be trusted. So I have to ask...do you think Putin can be trusted to keep his word?

Right. Good thing JD doesn’t understand the language, or else they may have carried him out on a stretcher.

“Huh?”

Like the whitehouse press pool, you missed the point. He went into the oval office for a presser and aired his diplomatic laundry. Not the time to negotiate security guarantees.
