Outstanding—this is how the “impossible” is done.

Those “Republicans” who maintain that Trump is the anti-thesis of Reaganism should now realize that what Trump is doing is the heart of domestic Reaganism, cutting the federal government’s size and reach.

The chaos, confusion and emotional suffering in federal offices is already off the charts.

Normal people live in a world where you show up for work, do useful things, report on what useful things you did last week, and always face the risk that layoffs by your company might become necessary.

Federal employees don’t live in that world. Until now. And they find it unfair and frightening.

When government workers are 90% Democrats and those hired in the last 4 years are 98% rabid Leftists tea best way to cut government spending and waste is to get rid of them.rather than cut programs for the rest of the country.

Democrats have turned government jobs into a huge welfare program for Democrat political activists

This is the “bitter pill” pundits have been talking about for years.

It is now being prescribed and administered.

Personally, it is way past time and hopefully it is successful. Thr cancer is in advanced stages and i have some doubts.

Going to be a finacial disruption across the board which is long overdue.

Hopefully it isnt real serious.

My experience has been that when you are offered a mass voluntary severance package, it is wise to consider it because deep reductions in force are on the horizon for those who choose not to take it. .

The better the package, the deeper the reduction in force is going to be.

Trump offered a pretty sweet deal.

I still don’t understand that if you pull funding from scams ($ not needed), reduce parasitic workforce ($ not needed), reduce the sugardaddy effect for overseas ($ not needed), etc, why does Trump still demand the same money at a substantial deficit?
Trust the plan, 4D Chess, etc?
Most will call me stupid names but maybe an adult can explain this?

Just keep in mind that if Trump fires half a million government workers, the government workforce would be the size it was in 2008. We probably need cuts of a million workers. And that means substantial cuts in programs. If he does that, it will be wonderful.

I’m both happy and saddened by this.

It’s good that we should get a slimming. Great.

But I’ll keep saying this: We need at least one agency outright abolished. Not merged, not re-assigned, not absorbed.

The people in the agency, such as the Department of Education, are no longer employed and the agency itself is wiped out entirely. It’s a complete, full-stop, destruction.

If all we get are reductions during 4 years of the Trump Presidency, when we reach the end, that will be a travesty. It will not be a triumph. The Republicans and the Democrats will just puff these agencies back up to what they were.

A 4 year reprieve is nice, but let’s be sober about it being only a 4 year reprieve and nothing more.

All I’m talking about is one single agency. One. One must be abolished. We need that precedent.

Is it people downsizing or funding downsizing? There is STILL massive amounts of work so if Fed people downsizing, contractor support will have to be increased.

“USAID employees given 15 minutes to clear out offices”

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5164946-usaid-employees-15-minutes-clear-out-offices/amp/

Most of the job growth during Biden’s administration was in government jobs. The remainder were part time jobs and those jobs went to foreign nationals.

Trump and his team are just cutting the fat that is floating at the top.

Sure hope the issue of unconstitutionality of most of these federal agencies and acts come to the forefront sooner than later.
