I dislike church raids for several reasons. Firstly, it’s a church, and they are supposed to offer sanctuary to those in need. So that creates horrible optics of armed men grabbing people out of Sunday worship, and that kind of stuff loses us the midterm election.

That being said, if you let them take refuge anywhere, they will abuse that and the churches will be overflowing with refugees and that makes another untenable situation.

You are more worried about “being tacky” with a building called a church than you are with catching criminals, many of the worst sorts.

A building is just a building, people make a church. People are can be holy, not the bricks.
