Potentially A LOT OF moving parts. Read “The Art of the Deal.” If everybody gets what they really want, they can allow other to get that they want. DON’T think compromise. Think everybody’s a winner.

Russian aluminum to the US? That’s some historical turn around stuff right thar. It was the US who helped Russia stay in the war against Germany during WW II by sending them aluminum so’s they could modernize their fighter aircraft-—which had been mostly birch plywood before that.

2 million tons of aluminum to US market would be very good for the economy...everything is made of aluminum pretty much.

Everyone but the Euroweenies, who want to fight both Russian and American, wins. It is not a zero sum game for Trump and Putin. The entire world benefits when arms reductions take place. Only the warmongering MIC oligarchs lose.

NO! We just allowed the Left to decimate our military while
China was ramping up full speed ahead.

We have a lot of catching up to do, compared to where we
should be right now.

We’re headed for war with China. Quit acting like we aren’t.

Why buy from Russia when Canada can supply almost as much (3800 v 3000 thousand tonnes) ? The US, UK, AUS, NZ and Can should create an Anglo trading zone.

Sounds like a good idea!
I don’t like the idea of cutting our Navy,
but leaving Europe to defend it’s self with it’s own armies sounds like a really good idea.
America has been in some sort of war for more than a few centuries.
We are good at it.
Because of real practice.
I’d hate to lose the edge Like the Russians and other Europeans have.
BTW I was raised by Navy Vets but went USAF.
Just to piss them off.

“25% tariffs coming soon to Canada” Agreed, but Americans will be paying it. Certainly Russia’s Al wouldn’t be tariff-free?

No. We don’t need to be dependent on Russia. Same as Europe relying on Russia for natural gas. It is a bad idea.

Plus aluminum can be produced here with all the excess natural gas from fracking.

We can get rare earths from Brazil, India, and Australia. Which are #2,3 and 4 in reserves. The US is #7 in reserves. And Greenland is #8.

We don’t need to be dependent on unstable countries.
