President Trump said Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept European peacekeeping troops in Ukraine as part of a potential peace deal to end the three-year-old war.

“Yeah, he will accept that. I’ve asked him that question,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office while hosting French President Emmanuel Macron.

“Look, if we do this deal, he’s not looking for more war. He doesn’t mind,” Trump added.

“But I’ve specifically asked him that question. He has no problem with it.”

Trump added that “the first element of the overall transaction is ending the war. But if, just as we’re doing with Ukraine, if we could do some economic development in terms of Russia and getting things that we want, something like that would be possible, yes.”

As badly as Russia and Germany want to acquire the Ukraine’s resources, they will have to settle with them going to the US for now.

The war is over. Watch those now who complain and rip apart the deal. The Ukraine money train is finished. The United States will now get so much economically from both Ukraine and Russia. War is a net negative to MAGA.

Agree completely; Europe can do what it wants in Ukraine, just keep America out of it.

President Trump is trying to tie up as many Ukrainian resources as possible so the U.S. will have oversight of those reconstruction funds because it will be a corruption free for all once the war is over and every country out there wants a piece of the reconstruction contracts.

‘He has no problem with it’

Neither do I. Keep our troops here to guard the border.

Ukraine has always been a backwater. The EU Globohomos have always preferred partnering with Putin and Russia to any interests they have in Ukraine.

European peacekeepers would be different than NATO ones.

Not if it does not come under the NATO command chain. They would also be outside of Article 5 protections. Remember that NATO was not involved with Argentina's attack on the Falklands because it was outside of the treaty territory.

And they won’t be stationed on the DMZ either.

Russia is concerned with China. Trump has a great opportunity here to box China out of Russia’s vast resources.

Finns would probably assist, but only in Winter.

“President Trump said Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept European peacekeeping troops in Ukraine”

I appreciate how President Trump held off on that announcement until today. I wonder if NATO anticipated that Putin might object to European peacekeepers as a way to derail any potential peace agreement.

maybe

i doubt the Finns would want to send very many troops to Ukraine ... they have defense concerns much closer to home

Great, let Germany, France and the UK put their soldiers in some DMZ between Ukraine and Russia. Not our problem.

What is “Ukraine”, though? How are unoccupied areas of Ukraine already “annexed” into the “Russian Federation forever” now going to be declared Ukraine again? The flexibility of Putin’s brand of Bolshevism and slavish buffoonery of the Kremlin’s useful fools never fails to amuse.
