On Sunday's edition of MSNBC's The Weekend, co-host Alicia Menendez said that NBC News had obtained a copy of the email sent out to federal employees at Elon Musk's behest requiring them to list five things that they had accomplished in the last week.
If the show's panelists had to list five things they had recently accomplished, one thing they couldn't mention was actually having read that email.
Because if they had, they wouldn't have fretted, as two of them did, that in responding to the email, "classified information" or secrets would be divulged.
That's because, as you' see, the email instructed recipients in bold letters, "do not send any classified information."

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Musk on why he sent emails demanding federal workers reply: “It’s meant to snare
people who are supposed to be working for the govt who are doing little or no work”
“In other words, outright fraud. We believe:
<><>non-existent people or the id’s of dead people are being used
<><>in order to collect paychecks
<><>this will snare those who cant or dont check their email.”
There is always a work around, not to divulge classified info, when reporting about classified projects.
People, who work this stuff, know exactly how to answer requests like that.
The memo is just a reminder.
I think, the “media” actually read this e-mail, and wondered - how can we hurt DOGE. “Oh, see, they say no to classified. That means there is a potential. We can explore that”
Hmmm...I might have a problem with that: 5 bullet points?
I all I do is one task, where do I get 5 things?
> Arrive at work
>take off coat
> count widgets
> write down count
> go home with coat
Sounds very taxing and stressful. Under union rules, you’re entitled to 5 paid personal days to recover.
IF all I do...
[the offending fingies have been suitably disciplined...]
I’m guessing Joy Reid didn’t respond.
1. I went to work early
2 - 5 are classified.
MSNBC is normally full of 💩. But in this case they aren’t completely wrong. Aggregation of CUI can lead to disclosure of sensitive information. But they aren’t smart enough to know that. All these years of the Purple Dragon training tells me this was a bad idea.
I hate doing all the things it takes to keep my living feds up to date. I sure as hell ain’t doing it for a dead guy.
There is virtually no chance this is happening.
Do you have to compare your widget count to an expected inventory from the previous widget count? Do you have to file the widget count when you’re done? Just trying to help, in case DOGE comes your way! =)
1- got familiar with office since I’ve never been
2- had lunch break at 9
3- decided to take up smoking. They get to break all the time
4- had lunch break at 11
5- felt feverish. Covid for sure. Went home at 12
I spent most of my working life where I had to document daily what I had done (because my time was billable).
It was not a burden. Why asking for just five things you have done in a week is a burden (actually their immediate supervisors should be able to document five things each worker has done).
Did you 6. Leave work late? :-)
People handling CUI, PII, and PHI have had training on not disclosing such information to unauthorized people. People doing classified work know to follow their Security Guide in order to avoid that concern.
"But they aren’t smart enough to know that."
Then they should not be handling CUI, PII, PHI, or classified information.
Wife brought up point - what if employee is on vacation or in hospital.
Yes, Liz, that is exactly what Musk said it was for. The talking heads are too ignorant to see this for what it is. It’s just a Captcha.
