LONDON (AP) — The leaders of France and Britain are making tag-team visits to Washington this week as Europe attempts to persuade President Donald Trump not to abandon Ukraine in pursuit of a peace deal in the three-year-old war with Russia.

There is an element of good cop, bad cop in efforts by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to salvage American support for Kyiv.

Starmer, reluctant to openly confront Trump, speaks of being a bridge between Europe and the U.S. administration. Macron has more strongly criticized Trump’s recent statements that echo Russia’s narrative and American moves to negotiate with Moscow while sidelining Ukraine.

The only question is whether Trump gives them a J D in Munich bitch slapping in public or only in private meetings. Trump has heard this garbage before, same as Putin. It is a non starter for both Trump and Putin and will be dismissed out of hand. It already has been repeatedly!

These visits only prove how marginalized the Euroweenies have become.

I support Ukraine, but why the hell can’t Europe take care of this issue. If they are important enough to be on the UN security council, should be be strong enough to assist Ukraine, with or without our help.

And if they are not, we need to reconsider who is on the security council.

They aren’t abandoned. Both France and The UK signed mutual defense pacts with the Ukraine. Let them defend Ukraine and guarantee it’s security with their own resources and tax payer money.

Many have portrayed this as a US deep-state/CIA-led instigated war in Ukraine

I am now wondering if really it wasn’t Brussels and their globalist “elites” who led the anti-Russia, Maidan/Azov narrative of the last 10+ years.

They certainly found willing participants in neocon DC, but deep-down, it seems to be and EU project.

Trump is not abandoning Ukraine. He is softening up both sides so that the give and take of a necessary negotiated end to this horrible war can go forward.

We’re not abandoning them. We’re just going to quit sending them pallets of taxpayer dollars. We need that money to provide “a better life” to the 20 million foreign freeloaders Joe Pedo imported to elect DemonRATS.

‘Brussels and their globalist “elites”’

Same bunch of criminals who perpetrated the Iraq oil for food scam. They were pissed when Bush Jr knocked over their extortion scheme. They set up another one in the Ukraine and now another American president is tired of paying for their corruption.

Why is this America’s job? If these people were serious and if a Russian victory in Ukraine will result in a Russian invasion of Europe, wouldn’t you be engaged in the biggest defense buildup since WWII?

Of course, they are not serious people. Except when it comes to demanding that the United States do all the work.

Let France and its ‘INDEPENDENT OF NATO. FREE FRENCH NUCLEAR FORCES’ guarranty Ukraine, along with French troops and Foreign Legion regiments.
Britain cam step up too, along with Germany and the Scandinavian countries, the ones who.mock the US and Trump.
Cut their free medical care that our country subsidizes by overpaying our share of NATO while they skimp, cheat and lecture us.

The tragedy is that Trump was illegally deposed and had that not happened no one would have died. The West quashed the peace Ukraine and Russia actually negotiated 800,000 dead Slavs ago to keep the killing going.

That will make the peasants (immigrants) riot. If there was a big enough riot there could be a coup. There’s a lesson in there somewhere, something about bosoms and snakes but I can’t recall the rest.

--- "the Euroweenies"

It is assured that those so willing to make strongly-worded PR statements, write strongly-worded memos and briefs and letters, and of course attend finely-arranged meetings with sumptuous buffets will not be the future of Europe.

Who imagines Starmer leading his troops to the front? Or Macron? Or short-timer Scholz? Or Rutte? Or Kallas? Or von der Leyen, who was a defense minister once upon a time?

The issue now is troops. Many more can be expended on all sides and to include the hired help, before the "troops" will be EVEN more the single issue?

The choices seem to be negotiate or "press the big red button." Those who think being half-pregnant is a thing ignore the passage of days, and deaths.

I grow weary of pontificating, smug. Smarmy, hypocritical European and Scandinavians lord it over us that THEY provide medical care to all their (residents) while heartless Americans do not. And they subsidize their generous welfare states by skimping on their defence budgets and letting the US carry the burden instead. Done. Defend yourselves and your thought police Orwellian police states and pay it all yourselves, including for managing all of Ukraines endless money hole and put your troops in there too.

How much US taxpayer money was laundered to the UK and EU to keep their welfare states afloat?

Inquiring minds want to know.
