It was clear who we sympathized with, but we did not allow ourselves to interfere, nor did we make any sharp statements or insulting remarks against any candidates. However, the Europeans did so. Frankly speaking, I am surprised by the restraint of President Trump towards his allies, who behaved in such a boorish manner." - President Putin.

One thing that unites Trump and Putin is the utter contempt they share for the Euroweenies.

I have to say that Russian communications are civilized and rational. That should be a low hurdle, but it’s one that Trump’s critics do not achieve.

My default (starting) position:

Putin is a liar. I believe nothing he says.
Zelenskyy is a liar. I believe nothing he says.
The EU leaders are all liars. I believe nothing they say.

Trump, I trust.

(Hungary’s Orbán I trust, too 🇭🇺. But that’s solely due to my Hungarian ethnic background. So I suppose that really doesn’t count.)

In 2024, Keir Starmer sent 100 labour-party apparatchiks to the USA to assist the Democrats and attack Trump

These people are NOT our friends or allies.

He was trolling Heels. Putin, like Trump, did not want WWIII. The Russians wanted a sane individual as US President. Heels would have been as bad as the dementia patient.

The Ukraine land area basically fills the land mass of the USA from eastern Kansas to Maine.
Operation Barbarossa, WWII had its main axis, Center group under Bock going through Byelorussia and the Ukraine;
If Hitler had not made the mistake of dividing his forces, they might have taken Moscow.
Russian partisans have been skirmishing with Ukrainians since 2014. Putin wants, I think, to fortify the most western areas of Ukraine that it seized over the last few years with several lines of defense in depth, as it did at Kharkiv, which defeated the Germans’ Fall Zitadel. Further, it secures the eastern areas that are majority Russian.
Considering their experience 80 years ago, and recently, fighting a proxy war with NATO, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to see that as his interest.
In so many words, he can argue he is defending his people. Is it something we should be doing in our southwest?

What has Putin lied about? I’m completely serious. Euroweenies, Green Scam, two sexes, Project Ukraine, Russia, Russia, Russia, Nordstream, Kosovo, color revolutions, Western colonialism in the Global South, ALL wokeism and perversions, US elections, God, Trump, Arms treaties, just what is it that he lies about?

President Putin engaged the meat grinder to make Russia great again. He knew he could he could do that with the nibbler in chief, without risking MAD.

Fault me if you've the stomach, I applaud President Putin's restraint in the face of Euros testing their missles upon Russian soil and people. I can understand how President Trump has much to discuss with a very important world leader.

Oh, so you want to go back to Twitter censorship of anything that goes against the Government Narrative? Even though every word of it is the truth, let’s just censor it because DC knows best. I hope you’re not to the point of self censorship that you’re censoring sources because the LAST administration told you to. You do know EVERYTHING Putin has said about Ukraine for three years has been true. Everything the West has told you about Ukraine until 1/20 has been a lie.

Alan Watson posted information that is worth considering. I won’t quote it but it is available on X.

I’ll will quote Putin:

“All European leaders, without exception, directly interfered in the election process in the US. It was clear who we sympathized with, but we did not allow ourselves to interfere, nor did we make any sharp statements or insulting remarks against any candidates. However, the Europeans did so. Frankly speaking, I am surprised by the restraint of President Trump towards his allies, who behaved in such a boorish manner.” - President Putin.

Maybe he’s a murderous thug. Other than that, I like the guy.

> What has Putin lied about? <

As you noted, Putin has said many things that made sense. But he also sent tanks across a sovereign border for weak reasons. He found excuses to start a major war. That makes him a liar in my book.

Please don’t get me wrong! On the other side of the fence, NATO has been provoking Russia for the last 25 years. A pox on both their houses.

As a side note, I am - at heart - very much a Russophile. The Russian people have suffered so much! When the USSR collapsed there was a golden opportunity to welcome Russia into the European family. That opportunity was botched.

I’m not exactly sure why. Perhaps the US military-industrial complex just preferred continuous tension.
