Federal employees who have worked remotely, either fully or partially, for nearly five years must now return to the office following an executive order from Trump requiring all federal workers to resume in-person work.
Newly confirmed Small Business Administration (SBA) head Kelly Loeffler has shared a video tour of her agency's headquarters, highlighting vacant offices amid a push to end remote work for federal employees.
'It's my second day here at the SBA,' Loeffler said on Friday. 'I could not be more excited to be here. So I thought I'd take a walk.
'And what I found is that exactly what's been said is true. About 90 percent of our employees are working from home. Well, that ends Monday with President Trump's return to work,' she added.
The video has since amassed more than 21 million views on X.
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior Department Jeremy Carl argued on X that the inability to fire federal employees leads to a lack of accountability.
'The problem with work from home in the federal government is that the employees cannot be fired,' he wrote. 'When you don't have to show up to the office, and there is no accountability for your performance [and] that is a recipe for disaster.'
Elon Musk, billionaire and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), also weighed in, posting simply, 'No one at work.'
Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans have called on Loeffler to provide answers regarding the SBA's failure to aggressively recover fraudulent or misallocated COVID relief funds.
'Profoundly grateful to @POTUS for the trust he's placed in me to help advance his America First agenda - and unleash a new era of growth, innovation, and prosperity for small business and all Americans.'

Somewhat of a conundrum. The only thing worse for freedom than a government “worker” who gets paid for not showing up to do his or her job is one that does.
The adage a PICTURE is worth a 1,000 words fits well here. When you see all the empty offices, someone is getting paid to do NOTHING.
what is even worse that no one is talking about is the pensions all these lazy louts will eventually collect if we dont get rid of them now!
“Federal employees who have worked remotely, either fully or partially, for nearly five years.......”
What a rip-off! These shirk from home thieves have been lounging around in pajamas for five years. Playing taxpayers for suckers. They pushed this scam too far, now they will be fired or assigned to work from home in an igloo in Alaska.
Now you all know when you see protests all over the country and you wonder “Wait, aren’t they supposed to be at work who are these people” now you know, they are federal workers, supporting Hamas, etc, on OUR DIME
Sad but true.
Make them show up, then fire them.
Reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Bart and Lisa made a cartoon episode for Itchy and Scratchy and put Grandpa’s name on it..the cartoon was great so every week Grandpa got checks so one day Bart and Lisa asked him “Grandpa, what did you think when you were getting checks every week for doing nothing” and Grandpa responded “I just assumed the Democrats were back in power”
I thought those that refuse to come to work were laid off???
They could work from this place, for sale in Barrow, AK. No igloo necessary.
A nice particle board-sided 1 bedroom one bath mobile home flat-roof. 375sf and only $375k. Not sure if the land is included.

Uh oh…now we are going to get all the government we are paying for.
Yup. Reminds of that Far Side cartoon where these 2 goldfish are standing on their tails on the table outside their bowl while their castle is engulfed in flames inside. One says to the other, “Whew! That was close. We barely got out with our lives....’Course, now we’re equally screwed.”
Sic ‘em, Fed Dawg!
>> Uh oh…now we are going to get all the government we are paying for.
Good ‘n hard, I’m afraid... until Elon RIFs ‘em all.
She’s hotter than I remembered.
Are we talkin’ no show jobs or no work jobs?

Kelly is very tall and skinny. I have met her a few times. She is real nice.
lol. I got a good kick out of that man. Thanks.
It is pretty easy to track if employees have been working at home. The problem is leadership who apparently still think it is 1950 and have not figured out how to track productivity for remote workers. Who are the stupid ones in this scenario ????
