Hegseth fires Navy’s top officer, Air Force No. 2

WASHINGTON — Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth today announced he was removing Adm. Lisa Franchetti as the chief of naval operations, unceremoniously ending early the tenure of the first woman to become a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

In addition, Hegseth said he would be replacing Gen. James Slife, the Air Force’s No. 2 officer, as well as replacing the top Judge Advocate General for the Army, Air Force and Navy.

“I am also requesting nominations for the positions of Chief of Naval Operations and Air Force Vice Chief of Staff. The incumbents in these important roles, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife, respectively, have had distinguished careers,” Hegseth said in a Friday statement. “We thank them for their service and dedication to our country.”

“We are also requesting nominations for the Judge Advocates General for the Army, Navy and Air Force,” Hegseth added.

Trump and his supporters, including Hegseth, have repeatedly talked about ridding the military of general officers they deem as “woke.” Franchetti’s firing follows that of Air Force Gen. CQ Brown, who Trump removed as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff minutes before Hegseth’s announcement.

In the past, when a new President came in, all the joint chiefs resigned. I am happy to see this cold hearted ingrate gone.

5500 DOD civilians got canned too, didn’t they?

At my grandson’s birthday party a couple weeks ago, I saw my daughter’s sister in law. She works for DOD in Louisville and was complaining about having to go to the office for the first time in SEVEN YEARS. She’s a nice lady and good mother. If she lost that job, I wonder who’ll take care of her three beautiful little girls (2, 4 and 5) at home while she’s at the office in the future?

Sweet while it lasted.

Back in the 1950s the dad made enough money. So the mom didn’t have to go to work. She could stay home and take care of the kids.

Something happened between then and now. I’m not quite sure what.

Monday will be quite a show. For the first time in almost FIVE YEARS the govies have to show up for work. I’m thinking there will be a lot of vacancies and resignations.

Every ‘news’ outlet will have crying fed workers because they had to come back to work.

My wife stayed home with our boys while I went to work. We married in 2003 and she stopped working in 2005 when our oldest was born. Has been a traditional housewife ever since. My boys flourished because of her. It is possible, even today.

“Something happened between then and now. I’m not quite sure what.”

The Feminist movement. Rush spoke often about how that made it possible for employers to pay more paltry salaries to men. Women had to leave the home.

Correcting that and recreating a system whereby the Tradiotional 2 patent family in intact and encouraged will go a long ways toward recovering our moral compass.

Interesting anecdote, thanks for sharing.

Do you have any idea what type of work this woman was doing from her home for the DOD?

What does it mean when a senior officer like these “resigns”?

Do they keep their rank and get assigned some lesser position to wait out the end of their career, or are they resigning their commission and retiring from the service branch entirely?

Well that’s just not very nice at all. You’d think that they’d take into account that she* was the first girl in that position and let her* keep her* job for at least the next four years.

The cleanup continues ...

We have a long way to go. We need to fire their handpicked underlings they reached down to pull up. We need to fire every BLM Kneeler, every DEI race hustler, every garden variety Commie, every open borders Global Socialist, every man hating Feminazi, every Tranny and Furry sympathizer, etc. There is a whole cadre of Leftist officers all the down to Battalion Commanders who need to be pushed out.

I hope they've been compiling lists of Leftists identified by their orders given, by their public statements, by their social media posts, etc who need to be fired. It should be no less than about 5,000 Officers. The cancer needs to be cut out.

If you don’t live above your means ... if you wait to support a family before you START a family, then mom can stay at home and care for her children.

It’s totally selfish to pop out babies and six weeks later hand them off to total strangers, rather than being there yourself

Right, like having different rules for different people. Where has that ever worked out?
