MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. Donald Trump's enemies are using Vladimir Zelensky to provoke the US president into doing or saying something that could serve as a pretext for his impeachment, according to Alexander Dubinsky, an opposition-minded member in the Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada).
"Many are wondering why Zelensky has been taking digs at Trump. In my opinion, globalists are pulling the strings here. Today, through Zelensky, they are attempting to provoke and undermine Trump, putting him in an uncomfortable position to force him to lose self-control and make a mistake, thereby providing the Democrats in the US with grounds to raise the issue of impeachment," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Dubinsky emphasized that Trump’s opponents want to take revenge against the US president for his public criticism of "the Democratic leadership, consistently portraying them as incompetent."
According to Dubinsky, Zelensky played a significant role in the regime change in the United States back in 2020. "Zelensky was instructed to fabricate a 'Russian trace' in Trump's 2020 election campaign—an element of the larger anti-Trump project that the Democrats initiated at that time," Dubinsky concluded.

These days, I might go with Tass over the New York Times. Not because I have a high opinion of Tass, but because I have a low opinion of the NYT.
Are these claims true? I have no idea. Could they be true? Yes.
There are so many things Democrat politicians and supporters say that I can reject out of hand. At least these claims, absent profanity and obvious hate, are well presented. That does not make them true, but is not an immediate turn-off.

Biden, who has less than four months left in office, is trying to secure as much US support for Ukraine as he can amid a tight presidential race between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Joe Biden at the White House Thursday to present his wartime “victory plan,” after the US president announced an $8 billion surge in military aid for Kyiv’s fight against Russia. But Zelensky’s visit was clouded by a blazing row with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump that underscored how November’s US election could upend the support that Kyiv receives from its biggest backer.
“Russia will not prevail. Ukraine will prevail, and we’ll continue to stand by you every step of the way,” Biden said as he hosted Zelensky in the Oval Office, after thanking him for presenting the so-called victory plan.
Dressed in his trademark military-style outfit, Zelensky replied that “we deeply appreciate that Ukraine and America have stood side by side.” Zelensky is looking to shore up support for his war effort at the same time as Biden tries to lock in aid for Ukraine, ahead of the white-knuckle vote pitting Biden’s Vice President Kamala Harris against firebrand Trump. The Democrat pledged nearly $8 billion in military aid in his announcement on Thursday, including $5.5 billion to be authorized before it expires at the end of the US fiscal year on Monday.
Biden said in a statement that the “surge in security assistance for Ukraine” would “help Ukraine win this war.” Biden also announced Washington would provide Ukraine with the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) long-range munition and called a summit of allies in Germany in October.
The White House however played down Ukraine’s hopes that Zelensky’s visit would achieve his long-held goal of getting permission to fire long-range Western-made missiles into Russian territory. “I’m not expecting there to be any new announcements on this particular action or a decision coming out of this meeting,” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
Harris was due to meet Zelensky separately at the White House on Thursday. Zelensky also visited the US Congress—where his government said he had also presented his victory plan—and gave a defiant address at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today is opening an investigation into the Biden-Harris Administration using taxpayer funded resources to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Pennsylvania to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
Chairman Comer is seeking documents from the White House, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice regarding the Biden-Harris Administration’s misuse of government resources that allowed Zelensky to interfere in the 2024 presidential election.
“In 2019, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached President Donald J. Trump for abuse of power under the theory that he attempted to use a foreign leader—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—to benefit his 2020 presidential campaign, despite a lack of any evidence of wrongdoing on the part of President Trump.
Biden-Harris recently flew the same foreign leader—Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—on an American-taxpayer-funded flight to Pennsylvania, a battleground state in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, which has been described as the ‘trickiest battleground for Vice President Kamala Harris to win.’
The Committee seeks to determine whether the Biden-Harris Administration attempted to use a foreign leader to benefit Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign and, if so, necessarily committed an abuse of power,” wrote Chairman Comer.
The Biden-Harris Administration recently transported President Zelensky on a Department of the Air Force aircraft to Pennsylvania to introduce government officials to President Zelensky about the Russia-Ukraine war.
Zelensky’s itinerary included a stop to meet with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. On Sept 22, 2024, The New Yorker published an interview with President Zelensky, in which he made multiple critical comments about the Trump-Vance ticket.
“This rhetoric coming from a foreign leader released in anticipation of a US-taxpayer-funded visit about the current Administration’s political opponent is highly concerning. The Committee is investigating any coordination or communication among the Biden-Harris Administration, Pennsylvania’s Office of the Governor, and President Zelensky for use or solicitation of use of government property to politically benefit Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign,” continued Chairman Comer.
“Because the Biden-Harris Administration orchestrated and used government resources to make possible this apparent campaign event that resulted in the potential interference in a federal election, the Committee seeks information from the White House and Biden-Harris.
Specifically, the Committee requests the following relevant documents: any information and communication, both internal and external, about President Zelensky’s visit to the United States during September 2024.”
