The New York University (NYU) chapter president of the College Republicans of America (CRA) has resigned after describing President Donald Trump's son Barron, a student at the university, as "sort of like an oddity on campus" in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Kaya Walker resigned on Sunday and this was announced by the CRA in an X post on Monday, which described her comments as "inappropriate."
Newsweek contacted Walker, via the New York University CRA chapter, and the CRA for comment on Tuesday by email and online inquiry form outside of regular office hours.
Walker spoke to Vanity Fair for a feature the publication wrote about Barron's education at NYU in which she said: "He's sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home."......
CRA President Will Donahue said: "Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join College Republicans of America.
"Strong leadership is built on resilience, courage, and the humility to rise above petty hostility—qualities that Barron had already demonstrated. We invite Barron to join us in shaping the future of our party."

As far as Barron joining the College Republicans of America, I kind of like what Groucho Marx said: "I wouldn't join any organization that will have me."
I remember the good old days when Democrats insisted that the children of presidents were off-limits for criticism. That includes last year when criticism of Hunter was off the table!
“Sort of like an oddity on campus” is considered an
“inappropriate” remark? Sounds like a simple observation. Let’s not become like the left where we tear down people over innocent remarks.
She said he was an oddity because he came to school and went home right afterwards. It’s none of her business to even single him out from the other students, and talk about his personal habits. If she’d kept her mouth shut, she’d still have her job.
“sort of like an oddity on campus”
><
I see nothing offensive about that.
What is offensive about what she said?
Agree. Let’s not be as pathetic.
She had the audacity to not speak of him in glowing terms.
TRUMP EFFECT! LMAO! BOOM! Like father, like son! LOL!
The clue? Vanity Fair. *spit*
I don’t know about you but I would find it a bit demeaning being referred to as an “oddity”.
It wasn't her place to single him out of all the students at the college and make that comment about him specifically. It's nobody's business what he does in or out of school, just like it's nobody's business what anyone else's kid does in or out of school. She treated him differently.
She had the audacity to not speak of him in glowing terms.

Sad. Some conservatives want a Kennedy-style Camelot, it seems.
She should not have said anything.

i strongly disagree
pound them mercilessly and unrelentingly so they crawl back under their rocks and dont even think about crawling out for another 2000 years.
they are swine , dont throw them pearls, they will just trample you under their cloven hooves AGAIN.
.
Another poser bites the dust!
That isn’t why. No one should be called an “oddity.” She could have chosen a different word, or said nothing.
What did she say that you find offensive?
“I don’t really see the issue here, hope we aren’t going to start enforcing politically correct speech.”
No, it’s called RESPONSIBLE speech. I would agree with you if the leader of the NYU Democrats had done the same and was driven out, but how the hell is he going to lead a Republican group after that remark.
He’s a serious young man. That makes him odd on any American campus these days.
