The worst case scenario for Ukraine is happening in Saudi Arabia.
X ^ | 2/17/25 | Lord Bebo

Russian delegation member Ushakov: “The main thing is to begin a real normalization of relations between us and Washington.”

—> The negotiations are not about Ukraine, but about restoring relations with America!

Essentially Russia and America looking to restore relations and work together on global issues, which include: - Ukraine (obviously) - Middle East - Mediation with China - Mediation with Iran - Mediation with North Korea - BRICS and US relations - De-dollarization situation

Trump is well aware that Russia is catalyst and allied with many nations in the global south, and is needed for the settlement of many conflicts, if you want to avoid war … what Trump wants.

I’ve been saying exactly this for a month. I know what Trump is up to. I read that magnificent bastard Richard Nixon’s book too.

Richard Nixon Foreign Affairs

Nixon took office intending to secure control over foreign policy in the White House. He kept Secretary of State William Rogers and Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird out of the loop on key matters of foreign policy. The instrument of his control over what he called “the bureaucracy” was his assistant for national security affairs, Henry Kissinger. So closely did the two work together that they are sometimes referred to as “Nixinger.” Together, they used the National Security Council staff to concentrate power in the White House—that is to say, within themselves.

The State Department has been treasonous at least since FDR.

If Trump makes peace only between the US and Russia then these peacocks will be able to shine in their own peace talks.

“hat’s bad news for Ukraine, as it’s a bargaining chip in this equation … not the main actor.”

Alexander has been getting at that for at least a month, but still didn’t believe Trump would go that far, until the past week or so, as the signs were piling up. The main sign was that Kellogg’s job, whether he knew it or not, was to go around Europe pushing his badly-outdated (and CNN-derived) plan, just to keep the European leaders occupied, while Trump’s REAL NEGOTIATOR, Steve Witkoff, was in quietly Moscow doing the real work to end the Neocon War in Ukraine, or to at least extract the US from it.

It was a BRILLIANT strategy!

It not worst case for average-Joe Ukrainians. Just for Zelensky and his globalist allies in the EU and America. The coup plotters. The ones who want to censor MAGA people.

Whatever grievances Russia had with Ukraine they went way over the top. And in response we and the EU also egged Ukraine into a nearly over the top, and definitely intractable and destructive, reaction.

It was always a mistake to push Russia away when we should have tried to integrate them with Europe. This was a big mistake going back many years, but made worse with the whole Russia Russia Russia nonsense and now made even worse with the war. The best way to contain China is to have Russia and India in at least a loosely organized alliance of trade. Isolating Russia pushes them into the arms of others. Russia will do what is best for Russia and so we too must do what is best for us and that inckuded keeping the dollar as the reserve currency and containing other expansionist nations. Probably why we are holding meetings in Riyadh as another positive outcome will be to get SA back on the dollar settlement for oil sales.

By the time meetings reach the SoS level ( Rubio and Lavrov) a plan has been crafted and its up to the heavy hitters to iron out fine points and level any speed bumps (like the EU and NATO) before it goes to their bosses

Contrary to reports I suspect the Ukrainian leadership that will replace Zelensky ( at least interim pending elections in a reconstituted Ukraine) has been brought into the final plan

Yes, true. But ostensibly Russia was ticked off about the treatment of Ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. But yeah undoubtedly after the color revolution Russia got nervous about NATO expansion too. They had to draw a line somewhere.

Trump appears to think NATO is both outmoded and unfair and a waste of resources. Make Russia an ally and what is there to protect against? I suppose waves of North African and ME refugees. Lol. Trump floated that we all cut our spending in half to reduce risk of conflict. It’s worthy of thought and discussion. Stabilize this planet, at least for a little while, and we humans can work on solving various problems in more productive ways than war and conquest. Fix problems in Africa and South America and there won’t be so many refugees and we won’t have to spent a fortune on the border either.

Sure, but both Pres. Trump and Secretary Rubio have said publicly that Ukraine will be involved.

  1. "President Donald Trump: "I expect Zelensky to be involved in the peace talks with Russia. Yeah, I do. I do. He will be involved, yes""

  2. "U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "A process towards peace is not a one-meeting thing.
It would include Ukraine and would involve the end of the war."

  3. Neither U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz nor Special Envoy Steve Witkoff have publicly confirmed future Ukrainian participation in peace negotiations.
This is today's meeting in Saudi Arabia

Envoy Witkoff, Sec. Rubio, NSA Waltz, FM al-Saud, NSA al-Aiban, NSA Ushakov, FM Lavrov:

I’ve been saying Kellogg was a distraction since his first goofy statements. Those statement were meant to distract the Euroweenies and outrage media while real negotiations occurred on the QT. I figured Grenell would have been the emissary though.

Everyone will tell you that Trump had no bargaining chips with Putin. How stupid can you be to say that? Putin is watching 1000 Russian boys die every week. Putin, if anything, deserves a Nobel Peace Price for his forbearance while the dementia patient’s handlers were trying to start WWIII. Putin wants peace and an end to the killing more than Trump.

Also missed is the first thing Trump said to Putin, “how about the color revolutions I just shut down in Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Hungary, Serbia, Romania and Slovakia?”.

The rats have been exposed, the Ukraine has been used as their laundering depot for American tax payer money.

DOGE needs to look into their ill gotten monies they stole. Trump should make a play for the canary islands and other areas where these pukes have off shore accounts and have them DOGE’d

The left did a lot of damage with their Russia Russia. It is typical of left to burn everything down in their personal quest for power and control. Such a contrast to people who actually love America and want to find solutions where America and the rest of the world can work toward mutual benefit solutions.
The left is in short evil, and corrupts/destroys all it touches.

Russia and the US getting together concerning the Ukraine is like two people in a bad marriage sending the stepchild to bed before discussing the terms of their divorce so they can coincide. Thousands of years of history for Russia and three hundred and fifty years of history of the US is not going to be changed because a few people sit down and make a deal. They are both going to break even and Ukraine is going to have to settle for the compromise. And neither parent is concerned about the people living there.

Hardspunned is exactly right. I feel sorry for the average person in the Ukraine but no sympathy for the governement as it is nothing but a place to wash money for the cheats here.
