European leaders have planned an emergency summit on Ukraine, according to multiple outlets.
The summit has been referred to as a “once in a generation” national security moment by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, CNN reported
The BBC reported that French President Emmanuel Macron will pull together the Monday summit, which will happen in Paris.
Last Wednesday, President Trump said he expects to meet face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin multiple times, with the president implying that they are probably going to meet first in Saudi Arabia.
“We ultimately expect to meet,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “In fact, we expect that he’ll come here, and I’ll go there, and we’re going to meet also, probably in Saudi Arabia. The first time we’ll meet in Saudi Arabia.”

Hope Trump is watching. Starmer is making his stance clear. He's no friend. Cut ties!

aka...The Man in the Green Shirt.
Trump should not be talking to Russia if Ukraine objects to it. And he should not be talking to Ukraine if Russia objects to it.
An honest and neutral mediator must have the confidence of both parties. If either side objects, just walk away.
And that’s probably the best strategy for the United States here. No more money. No more support. Just walk away, and let Europe handle it.
There are PLENTY of reasons for Trump to talk to Russia (far more reasons than needing to talk to Ukraine) and those reasons go well beyond Ukraine...so, no, Ukraine doesn’t get veto power over who Trump meets.
Leaders do not react like this. Teens do.
“Leaders do not react like this. Teens do.”
I prefer to call that bunch “children” as I think calling them “teens” is an insult to teens.
It's a brand now. The Ukrainian Trident (Tryzub). Probably you can buy it on t-shirts and coffee mugs these days.
Rather rrecently, "Tryzub (Ukrainian: Тризуб) is a Ukrainian paramilitary organization founded in 1993 by the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists. Its full name is the Stepan Bandera All-Ukrainian Organization ″Tryzub″ (Ukrainian: Всеукраїнська організація ″Тризуб″ імені Степана Бандери). Its main goal is to create the Ukrainian United Independent State (Ukrainian: Українська Соборна Самостійна Держава, УССД). According to Tryzub, its enemies are ″imperialism and chauvinism, fascism and communism, cosmopolitanism and pseudo-nationalism, totalitarianism and anarchism, any evil that seeks to parasitize on the sweat and blood of Ukrainians″"

Now one can review that Stepan Bandera referencem should one be interested.
> There are PLENTY of reasons for Trump to talk to Russia… <
I agree! For one thing, Russia would make a natural ally of the United States against radical Islam and against Communist China.
It is a damn shame that the United States has not seriously pursued this.
But when it comes to the Ukraine/Russia war, each side really does have a veto power over an arbiter. No one will listen to an arbiter who seems to be prejudiced for the other side.
True in business. True in international politics.
Anyway, I wish the US would just stay out of the whole thing. Not our circus, not our monkeys - as the old saying goes.
Russia has their own issues with Muslims.
I would imagine that your wish is what Trump is going to talk about.
The money’s gone, dried up. The CIA color revolution is over. It seems worth telling Putin.
“cosmopolitanism”
Hmm. That was the Stalin word for Jews.
lol.......
Someone tell Starmer and the Euro-Weenies I think hardspunned call them.
Not seeing anything unlikable there.
Pretty obvious he means just on the topic of Ukraine, and not, for example, discussions on the Arctic, space, grain sales, energy, etc.
Zelensky....”there is no any leader in the world who can really make a deal with Putin without us about us.”......
You lost.
Stepan Bandera. An interesting fellow, whom so many don't want to consider. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepan_Bandera
Poles certainly don’t want to consider him.
It is interesting that one can speak about European collaborators in WWII as well as the resistance to them, and yet, when it comes to today's narratives, the notion that ANY nation has not experienced this is ignored. The simplified "white hat/black hat" narrative is the stuff of B?W westerns and cops-n-robbers, but the complexity of today's geopolitical mess cannot be so simplified.
Even the Nazis were shocked at the brutality of Bandera’s Boys.
