WHOA! Judge RIPS Into Lawyers for Fired Inspectors General — Forces Them to Withdraw TRO Motion, Threatens Them with Sanctions!

You love to see it.

Judge Ana Reyes, a Biden appointee, ripped into lawyers for the fired inspectors general suing to get their jobs back.

As previously reported, eight inspectors general fired by Trump filed a lawsuit to get their jobs back.

President Trump last month fired over a dozen inspectors general in a late night purge shortly after he was sworn into office.

Real Clear Politics reporter Susan Crabtree explained that many of these IGs, who are in a position to identify and clean up waste and abuse, have long histories of whitewashing reports and playing politics.

President Trump kept current Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari Jr., who is conducting multiple investigations into the Secret Service failures that led to two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life.

Trump also kept IG Michael Horowitz, who has a record of whitewashing reports and excusing criminal acts by far-left officials.

‼️‼️TRUMP FIRES 17 INSPECTORS GENERALS in a late-night purge punctuating the end of his first five days in office. @RealDonaldTrump dismissed 17 federal agency watchdogs. I’ve covered these IGs for years — and trust me when I say, even though they are charged with ferreting out… pic.twitter.com/ILwBW2NRxY

On Wednesday, 8 inspector generals sued to get their jobs back and argued Trump violated a questionable law passed by Congress in 2022.

The law requires a US president notify Congress 30 days before firing an inspector general and to explain in detail the reason for the termination.

The lawyers for the fired inspectors general really pissed off the judge for wasting her time and she let them have it!

On Friday, Judge Reyes tore into the lawyers for waiting 3 weeks to file a lawsuit and then demanding an emergency, same-day temporary restraining order (TRO).

The judge forced the lawyers to withdraw their TRO motion and then threatened them with sanctions.

WOW: Judge Reyes just absolutely tore into the lawyers for the fired IGs, saying they waited 21 days to file suit and then demanded emergency same-day relief.

She forced them to withdraw their TRO motion and threatened them with sanctions.

Reyes fumed after the lawyers representing the IGs compared their firings to recently fired Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger.

Reyes was livid that the lawyers for the IGs compared their case to the recently decided case of fired ethics watchdog Hampton Dellinger. She pointed out why those cases are nothing alike and wondered why the IGs would even try to compare them.

The inspectors general withdrew their TRO motion and agreed to an expedited hearing schedule.

Judge Reyes ripped them AGAIN and said today was a total waste of time because it all could have been handled with a 5 minute call to the DOJ.

THE UPSHOT: The IGs withdrew their temporary restraining order motion and instead agreed to an expedited briefing schedule. Reyes noted that could’ve been done with a 5 minute phone call to DOJ rather than forcing everyone to race to court on a TRO hearing.

True, but in this case, the Judge was correct!

Which is really surprising given she was appointed by Biden!

This was good.

President Trump is moving so fast the leftists can’t keep up—and the leftists tried to make it the judge’s problem.

She was not amused.

This has more to do with the demand for an expedited ruling rather than the substantive aspects of the underlying motion.

Notice every one of these cases is ending up in front of a Biden or Obama Judge.

That is true—but the cases themselves are absurd as well.

That probably influenced the attitude of the judge.

Who ever heard of any senior government official getting their job back after the President fired them?

The judge’s chambers are not a personnel office.

Waiting 21 days to file a TRO is legal suicide.

Good. And from the story, stupid. Pay them 30 their days and show them the door. They do not have a right to that job. IGs are in on the scam, obviously. Too close to the people they supervise.

Trump’s DOJ should file fraud charges against these IGs. Musk is doing their jobs and they were receiving salaries fraudulently.

Your job as IG has been changed in scope: you are to track down which civil service employees have been stealing pens and post-it notes. Please file a full report by day 29.

It’s easy to get a TRO because it’s requested to stop imminent harm while the facts are sorted out. Judges usually issue them immediately upon request, but will not appreciate being jerked around with requests that do not meet the standards for a TRO.

I’ll say it again. Trump should ignore these judges anyway since thanks to Biden we now know that the President has full immunity for Presidential decisions and he can also pardon those who assist in ignoring these idiotic democrat judges rulings. He could just prepare preemptive blanket pardons for them for any charges that may arise from following his orders. At a minimum he should ignore them until SCOTUS rules on constitutionality . So please President Trump, ignore them and press on and stop letting them hamstring you!

I’m thinking President Trump is going to let a bunch file, and get it out of their system. Then crush their puny ideas.
