JD Vance: Everything We Do Should be to Defend Democracy, But Europe is Abandoning Shared Values
Breitbart ^ | 14 Feb 2025 | Oliver JJ Lane

Posted on 02/14/2025 1:12:30 PM PST by SoConPubbie

America finds Europe’s retreat from shared values as the continent turns away from democracy and towards censorship “shocking”, Vice President JD Vance told leaders in Germany in a hard-hitting speech.

Europe is increasingly acting like the ‘bad guys’ in the Cold War as it turns towards censorship and fails to uphold democracy, U.S. Vice President JD Vance told a stunned hall at Germany’s major annual Munich that despite obsession among the European elite about subversion by Russia and China, actually the greatest threat to the continent is “the threat from within”.

In a withering check-list of failures of freedom heard of by Americans coming out of Europe in recent months including an annulled election in Romania, threats of social media crackdowns against “hateful content”, and even Christians arrested for praying in public, Vance said these developments are “shocking to American ears”. He said:

For years we’ve been told everything we fund and support is in the name of our shared democratic values. Everything from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship is billed as a defence of democracy. But when we see European courts cancelling elections and senior officials, threatening to cancel others, we have to ask if we are holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard. And I say ourselves because I fundamentally think we are on the same team. We must do more than talk about democratic values, we must live them.

Now within living memory of many of you in this room, the Cold War positioned defenders of democracy against much more tyrannical forces on this continent. And consider the side in that fight that censored dissidents, that closed churches, that cancelled elections. Were they the good guys? Certainly not. And thank God they lost the Cold War.

Money quote:

“If your democracy can be destroyed with a few hundred thousand dollars of digital advertising from a foreign country, then it wasn’t very strong to begin with.”

When you are building an alliance you talk about shared values.

When you talk about the antithetical values of other alliance members, you are announcing the end of the alliance.

For NATO it can’t come soon enough !

Maybe europe should be trying to uphold republicanism, not democracy.

I wish that every U.S.A citizen would stop saying, “democracy,” when referring to this government.

THE U.S.A. GOVERNMENT IS A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!

Trump should write an E.O. stating that any U.S.A. citizen who refers to this government as a “democracy,” should be charged with treason.

After Vance’s epic debut, the Weenies have probably stopped thinking of a better future should tragedy strike Trump/

“For NATO it can’t come soon enough !”

The history of the United States and the Europeans is one of non-stop treachery by the Euros against the USA. We bailed them out of three major wars, World Wars 1 and 2 and the cold war and it earned us no gratitude. They have the typical ingratitude of all welfare recipients, which they have been since WW 1.

A recent example of the treachery is Britain intelligence services participating in the Russian collusion hoax. Another is the Starmer/Libera government sending operatives to the USA to campaign for Kamala.

Their internal politics are now full-blown Stalinism and we should completely disengage and let them to revert to that which they’ve done best over the centuries, murdering one another.

Political Science - Randy Newman

[Verse 1]
No one likes us, I don’t know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
And all around, even our old friends put us down
Let’s drop the big one and see what happens

[Verse 2]
We give them money, but are they grateful?
No, they’re spiteful and they’re hateful
They don’t respect us, so let’s surprise them
We’ll drop the big one and pulverize them

[Verse 3]
Asia’s crowded, Europe’s too old
Africa is far too hot and Canada’s too cold
And South America stole our name
Let’s drop the big one, there’ll be no one left to blame us

[Bridge]
We’ll save Australia
Don’t wanna hurt no kangaroo
We’ll build an all-American amusement park there
They got surfing too

[Verse 4]
Boom goes London, boom Paris
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole world ‘round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it’ll be
We’ll set everybody free
You wear a Japanese kimono, babe
There’ll be Italian shoes for me
They all hate us anyhow
So let’s drop the big one now
Let’s drop the big one now

Nah, just stripped of citizenship and shipped to the nearest actual ‘democracy’.

I wish that every U.S.A citizen would stop saying, “democracy,” when referring to this government.

It used to refer to "rule by the people".

Up to about 10 years ago, it was how we used the word.

Ain't that the truth!

If the UK and France had honored their obligations in 1939, Germany could have been crushed. Germany had only about 20 divisions. France had the largest army in the world, 100 divisions. WWII in Europe could have been over by December 1939.

Germany had left their homeland defenseless in order to move the bulk of their forces to invade Poland. France failed to live up to its treaty obligation saying that it needed US arms and money. The US wasn't even at war! Frogs.

The way things are going, countries like England, France and Germany should be considered as targets for occupation and nation-building, not allies to defend. At least, if we adopted the same mindset as neocons.

Europe’s upper and/or educated classes have a bad habit of looking down on anyone who isn’t European.

For instance I heard a family speaking French in an elevator, so I asked them in French where they were from.

They said France. I told them I went to school in Canada to learn French.

They said they spoke “real” French, unlike Canadians, and that I should have gone to Europe to study.
