Red States Forming Their Own DOGE Commissions
Unleash Prosperity ^ | 02/11/2025

Posted on 02/13/2025 1:26:30 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Trump Derangement Syndrome has morphed into a new mental health condition. Progressives now also have Musk Derangement Syndrome.

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar isn’t mincing words: “This is what the beginning of dictatorship looks like.” Others are huffing that Elon Musk is leading “a corporate coup.”

Yes, a coup against big fat bureaucratic government.

Now, Red State governors and legislatures are taking a page from DOGE’s playbook and creating their own state versions.

In Oklahoma, Gov. Kevin Stitt has created DOGE-OK to transform the state’s outdated information systems. In New Hampshire, Gov. Kelly Ayotte has created a “Commission on Government Efficiency” (COGE) to streamline government. Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has formed his own state “Fiscal Responsibility Program.” Republican legislatures in Idaho, Texas, Kansas, and Missouri are creating special DOGE-like committees. Some states with liberal governors but GOP legislative majorities – Wisconsin, Arizona, and North Carolina – are doing the same.

This is the last thing the Left wants: a search-and-destroy mission when it comes to government waste and fraud.

If you listen to the detractors the government is just burning the whole house down with no thought of its implications. Typical mindset of those that think the government is there to save them.

Ilhan Omar isn’t mincing words: “This is what the beginning of dictatorship looks like.”

BS scare tactic. When I finished grad school, one of my friends took a job in DC with small, new, agency. Three weeks into the job, the director of the agency came into the room and told everyone to "slow down and let your IN BOX pile up". Four days later there was a "surprise" visit by the General Accounting Office (GAO) to see if the request for more workers by the agency was warranted. The director pointed to the now-overflowing IN BOXes pleading for more staff, which he got.

The point is: Your social stature in DC is determined by the number of people you have under your control. And because of that, there is no desire AT ALL to be efficient. The agency was the EPA, which now has over 16,000 employees who do nothing but issue new regulations that have to be enforced with more EPA employees because Congress has abdicated it oversight responsibility on these agencies. Instead, they spend their time fund raising for the own re-election.

Post high school girlfriend went to work for the local Veterans Administration.

Similar story. Nobody there did anything. Gossip, nails, read fashion magazines…. They wouldn’t even answer a phone. Would let it ring endlessly.

She tried to do her job. Boss fired her because the rest of the women complained that “she made them look bad”.

Every state needs to follow suit. Really, we all should be contacting our state reps and suggesting it

I will be interested to see how these work out.

It seems like a drastically different situation than the federal mess.

We had 8 years of 0bama, 4 years of Trump being undermined and hamstrung by 0bama’s holdovers and then 4 years of 0bama’s sock puppet. Over these past 16 years, an incredible amount of graft and corruption built up inside the federal government and all of it’s agencies.

In most of these red states (including my own) the same corrupt Republican RINOs have been running the show for a generation or more. The people who would be doing the exposing are the same ones that would be exposed.

I don’t see how that could work.

They aren’t going to want to stop the gravy train they themselves have been benefiting from for the past 20 years.

Excellent post—you nailed it.

The agencies also use their mass media contacts to propagandize on their behalf.

The game is totally rigged—self-dealing and conflict of interest of all parties involved.

I’m hoping that in time, Trump’s DOGE crew will expand to audit Blue states. They get a lot of federal funds, and they won’t be able to refuse audits. The outrage will be glorious!

I worked for the VA in healthcare for years and I can vouch that this is what I saw myself whenever I went to the admin building. Very believable.
