Revolver was right: NewsGuard just got exposed and now Microsoft is running for cover…

Well, well, well—looks like Revolver was right again. While other conservative outlets turned a blind eye to NewsGuard or, some even played along with their “media literacy” scam, we were out in front, boldly calling them out for exactly what they were—a tool of the regime, designed to blacklist and silence conservative media under the phony guise of fact-checking.

..

So, how were we right? Well, as we speak, Microsoft, one of their biggest backers, is now scrambling to distance itself, from the fake fact-checking group. Also, this probably won’t come as a shock, but the infamous USAID was also backing Newsguard.

The move came after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) began investigating Microsoft for funding the online “media literacy” censorship tool created by NewsGuard to help guide “learners of all ages through the overwhelming landscape of online news and information.”

Now we come to find out that NewsGuard was funded by USAID…

...

Microsoft is now in panic mode. So much so, they’re even pretending their support was just a one-time thing back in 2018.

In response to Cruz, Microsoft claims their support of NewsGuard was limited to a one-time donation in 2018, and said it had asked NewsGuard to remove a claim on its website that read “NewsGuard’s Media Literacy Programs are made possible thanks to generous support from Microsoft,” Newsmax reports, citing a Senate Commerce Committee spokesperson.

Sure. More lies.

Because if that’s the case, why did NewsGuard only just now erase Microsoft’s name from their website? Honestly, the timing tells you everything you need to know.

But it’s no wonder that Microsoft is running for their lives. After all, it was NewsGuard’s job to silence and throttle some of the most popular right-wing sites in America. They would contact advertisers and advise them on “brand safety.” In other words, telling companies to dump popular sites, so they could squash political dissent.

Allum Bokhari:

Omnicom Group is all-in on internet censorship.

Along with Publicis and IPG, Omnicom is partnered with NewsGuard, which maintains a blacklist of disfavored websites.

Sites on the blacklist are considered “brand unsafe” and ripe targets for financial throttling / ad boycotts.

You may recognize some familiar websites on NewsGuard’s blacklist.

Including Tucker Carlson!

According to NewsGuard, it’s “brand safe” to pull your client’s ads from the second-most popular podcast in America.

I’m sure that’s completely objective and not politically motivated at all /s

...

The truth is, NewsGuard was never about trust or transparency—it was about control. From the beginning, we exposed how their so-called “nutrition labels” were just a weapon to discredit conservative outlets while propping up regime-approved propaganda.

NewsGuard was so rattled by our reporting—especially on the “Color Revolution”—that they lashed out with a follow-up hit piece.

...

Michael Hayden: former head of the NSA head and architect of national electronic surveillance system on US citizens, who went on to lie about the existence of said system (or at least engaged in vigorous deception) about it to Congress. After whistleblower Edward Snowden famously exposed the existence of illegal NSA surveillance on US citizens, Hayden revealed his attitude toward truth telling by (jokingly?) calling for Snowden’s assassination. In addition to heading the NSA, Hayden also headed the CIA—an organization renowned for its respect for truth. Hayden’s name appears hundreds of times in the Senate’s scathing 2014 report on CIA torture methods. Charming fellow.

Arne Duncan: former Secretary of Education for President Obama. In his capacity as Secretary of Education, Duncan is perhaps best known for his defense of “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings. Jennings came under fire when it was revealed that, as a school teacher, Jennings refused disclose to authorities his knowledge that a 15 year old student was having an illegal sexual relationship with an adult. A Washington Times report revealed that Jennings was also involved in promoting a reading list for children 13 years old or older that made the most explicit sex between children and adults seem normal and acceptable, and also praised Harry Hay, supporter of the notorious North American Man Boy Love Association. When these controversies were brought to light, Arne Duncan responded that Jennings was “uniquely qualified for his job” and that he was ” honored to have him on our team.” We wonder what it is about Mr. Duncan, then, that makes him uniquely qualified to advise a company like Newsguard, which is responsible for assigning Orwellian nutrition labels to news websites.

Hayden and Duncan only scratch the surface when it comes to the list of censors and moral scolds advising Newsguard on which websites they deem suitable for consumption. Newsguard also features on its advisory board a man named Richard Stengel. Stengel is a former senior official in Obama’s state department who once described his role as being that of “chief propagandist”:

Also, fun fact: Obama’s propaganda artist, Richard Stengel, happily admitted his dislike for Fox News. But his biggest problem was that NewsGuard couldn’t slap them with one of their infamous “red marks” without making it obvious they were nothing more than a biased, weaponized tool for the regime.

This is exactly the kind of information Revolver has been exposing for years now. This piece on NewsGuard came out three years ago, before they were on anybody’s radar. But, from the start, we knew NewsGuard wasn’t about media literacy—it was just another cog in the left’s massive censorship machine.

Good post.

Whenever the leftists talked about “guardrails” on speech it meant no guardrails for them and a boot on the face for us.

Back in the day, El RushBo used to talk about ““Center for Science and the Public Interest””

He called them a few wackos with a fax machine and letterhead. They spread all kinds of misinformation and lies, trying to shut up the right. Didn’t work with El RushBo.

From what I see, social media posts, and sometime conservative sites, provide the Left with fodder for their overall liberal canons by posting inaccuracies and or poorly substantiated claims, which liberal fact checkers use to make conservative look careless uninformed or as if it trusts social media posts, while we should be known for the most integrity. Publicly posted claims should be verified beforehand rather than just passing it on due to it confirming our opinion.

Social media posts are the worse, and a look at the list of such which politifact lists as false (https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/list/?speaker_type=SOCIAL) are claims I never saw on FR, except maybe "U.S. Agency for International Development paid Chelsea Clinton $84 million."

The carte blanche security access to has-beens is appalling. When you are done with a job, you clean out your desk and leave the key. And only take the stapler if you bought it.

“In the old days, security gave you 2 Kinko’s boxes, and an escort to the parking lot where your car had bee moved from your parkin. The Kinko boxes were to be filled with personal items, no company items.

Then security guards escorted you and your Kinko boxes to your vehicle in the former Executive parking lot.

Then, you and your vehicle were escorted out and onto city streets. City cops made sure that you would leave and go home or wherever.
