Just within a week or so, my city has closed Party City, Big Lots and Joanns. Yea, Bidens economy sure was great, should we blame Trump since he’s been in office for what, three weeks?
Yep, JoAnn’s, Party City and Big Lots are/were within walking distance of my house............
Our local JoAnns is closing but everything else under BIDEN this past year is pretty much gone. This was because of BIDEN , not President Trump....who has only just begun to rebuild.
same here... we lost Big LOTS, .99c store, Rite-aid, SO MANY! La Verne looks like a ghost town.
In my neck of the woods JoAnns lost their mission when they went from JoAnns Fabrics to JoAnns Walmart seasonal aisle. You can barely find fabric in there any more, besides pre-cut stuff.
We had A.C. Moore, Michaels and JoAnn’s, Now just Michaels, and they don’t carry a lot of stuff.............
Low IQ savages do not need anything but their throw away cheap Chinese clothing.
I sew most of what I wear. There is no other store in my city that sells fashion fabrics. Any fabric I now buy will be from on-line vendors. This will be a challenge.
The sad fact of the matter is Joann’s is primarily a store for sewing enthusiasts. An interest and developed love of sewing originates early on for most people back in junior and high school, when home economics was taught. At the age of 15, I was learning the basics of how to make clothes in my high school sewing class. Schools don’t have that today, they haven’t for many years now and therefore most school kids are not exposed to learning how or cultivating interest in or a love of sewing, IMHO. That’s why there is such a drop of interest in stores like Joann’s. Eventually they’ll all be gone sadly.
BRING BACK TEACHING HOME ECONOMICS, AT LEAST STARTING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL!
When eventually the technology trap closes in, people won’t know how the cope because they will not have learned basic life skills.
They were also an ‘Artsy-Craftsy’ store........
Yes, how can you buy fabric without touching it? The standard types of fabrics are well known, but something new will be a challenge..................
Eventually only Amazon.com will be left standing.
“they went from JoAnns Fabrics to JoAnns Walmart seasonal aisle”
Yes indeed.
Great way to put it.
They were not staff........ they were Team Members
Women just don’t want to sew anymore I guess. They will rip what they sow, that is Fer sure
Our Mall, which was the largest in the Panhandle at one time, is on the verge of closing and being torn down to build condos.
There once was over a hundred stores of all kinds, now just a dozen, and when their leases are up, it is done for..............
It’s like buying shoes or pants or whatever online- often have to send them back because they don’t fit right, but there’s no way to tell until it arrives.
