My old school statistics professor started the class with:

unfortunately, they convinced us that statistic gives us an answer.

AI is a variation of that. It won’t give us answers, more useful questions.

we need to use it right and challenge it when used wrong.

Unfortunately, people want and search for simple answers to complex questions. Watch out for that.

I just watched VP Vance’s entire speech. Thanks for posting it. He is such a breath of fresh air, unabashedly laying out the American position, not apologizing for it and extending the hand of cooperation to all nations. But he clearly warned about the threat of China.

While watching it, I constantly thought about Kamala Harris attempting to deliver such a speech. My mind’s eye kept going to her giggling and laughing inappropriately, trashing the USA, kowtowing to other nations all the while gushing meaningless tripe and bosh.

In my last class in economics at Claremont (”CMC”), Professor Eyrich led us young whipper snappers through a series of questions that seemed to have obvious determinative answers, which we gave him.

But he turned each question’s answers around on us to demonstrate that the real answer was, “It depends”, and to focus on what it depends.

Having done that to sensitize our young brains, he then lit into a series of questions, to which we had just become accustomed to saying, “It Depends,” and these new questions had answers that were actually absolutes.

By the end of class, we had to very thoughtfully consider whether any particular question’s answer had dependencies and what the dependencies were, or whether the question’s answer was an absolute and why.

Our economics degree was then completed, and we went to Graduation the next day.

What a brilliant man.
