The Judicial Coup Against Trump
Front Page Magazine ^ | 02/11/2025 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 02/11/2025 9:27:44 AM PST by thegagline

Dems and their media have been shouting about a “constitutional crisis” for two weeks now. If you believe Rep. Jared Huffman, it’s even the worst constitutional crisis since the Civil War.

But the actual constitutional crisis is once again proving to be a judicial coup.

Democrat federal judges have blocked lawful moves by the Trump administration under various technical pretexts with the aim of upending legal presidential authority. We’ve already seen this during Trump’s first term, so it comes as no real surprise, but it’s even more aggressive out of the gate with leftist activists and leftist federal judges moving rapidly to try and block nearly anything that the Trump administration does.

This isn’t just limited to broader national policies, like NIH funding caps, but the management of the federal government, including removing political appointees and reassigning federal employees, offering them buyouts, pausing the appropriations process and ending relationships with contractors.

All of these are under the purview of the executive branch until federal judges decided to step in.

Whatever one conceives of the role of the federal judiciary, it is not wielding executive authority. And that is what federal judges are effectively doing by vetoing a broad range of publicly supported policies on the thinnest of pretexts.

There is no way to make meaningful reforms without challenging judicial review or more properly judicial supremacism, but nonetheless it’s clear that the crisis is approaching sooner than anyone expected. ***

I’ve often wondered how so many Democrat led cases end up before sympathetic judges. Perhaps the DOGE brain trust could temporarily direct their analytical minds on how this is the case. If there is judge shopping, which I suspect there is, the resultant arrests would be a glorious sight to see.

Trump is under no legal obligation to obey an unlawful order.

If a court has no jurisdiction, it has no authority; therefore, those orders are void ab initio, which means they cannot be enforced.

There are 677 District US Judges currently. More than the Executive and Legislative Branch combined.

And they act like a Socialist politburo overriding EO’s and legal laws.

I say Trump just ignores them and see if the Supreme Court will set the record straight. Also, where were they when Biden ignore the Supreme Court which said Student Loan forgiveness was unconstitutional. Why was it OK then, but not now? Reason: This tramples on the Democrats’ power.

In Florida years ago our Judicial Qualifications folks removed Hastings from his judgeship...it can be done.

It its a coup and/or a constitutional crisis, with the separations of powers at stake, then...

immediate appeal should go directly up to the highest court in the land, AUTOMATICALLY!, to settle the matter within a day. No need to argue the matter any lower court.

Lots of options for the white house.

Seems like they could start fast running these rulings up through the levels to SCOTUS, finally asking SCOTUS to define the powers of lower courts. And while they are going through the levels, keep working.

So THE PEOPLE Democratically voted and the dems (who scream abt DEMOCRACY) use the courts to DENY THE PEOPLE’s DEMOCRATIC vote. These judges are UNELECTED and THEY can STOP our President who is duly ELECTED by more than 70 MILLION voters?

They just want to slow down his progress. Dems want to WAIT HIM OUT.

There was never a constitutional crises when all these agencies were implemented through executive order. Now all of a sudden there’s a crises when it’s taken away through the same process.

Hastings removal was because he was an unethical and slimy person who took bribes.

So naturally he was elected to Congress afterwards.

Do NOT rely on the USSC to do the proper thing, on Separation of Powers.....they ignore the Constitution, many times. It’s especially true with the Roberts Court, and the planted partisans.

If the SCOTUS will not uphold the separation of powers clause, then, neither should Trump, and he could rule the country as he wishes with no interruption by the courts.

LOL - You must be from Florida. It was his 'in court' decisions that led to the investigations that showed that was an ' unethical and slimy person'... it'll be the same with these democrat 'judges' attempting to steal the power of the executive branch. ( your 'elected to Congress' comment is on the mark too...LOL

He was in prison collecting his salary as a judge. The only way to stop his pay was impeachment and conviction in the Senate. But no worries, after getting out, Hastings was elected to the House where he served until he dies.

The Democrats were talking about legislating the Supreme Court by term limits and increasing the number of justices. Right now the Republicans could very well do the same thing and pack the Supreme Court with Trump appointments. I’m trying to think of any downside. Court packing with conservatives would be as effective as court packing with communists. We have to call them what they are, communists. They are not liberal and they are not progressive they are communist.

Yep, just keep going and ignore these activist judges.
