Cocaine is no worse for your health than the common glass of whiskey, claimed the president of Colombia — the world’s biggest producer and exporter of the illegal drug.
In a first-of-its-kind, six-hour live broadcast ministerial meeting in the South American country, Colombian President Gustavo Petro argued that cocaine is only illegal because of global politics — further claiming that it can be consumed as casually as alcohol, according to a report.
“Scientists have analyzed this. Cocaine is no worse than whiskey,” the 64-year-old president said, according to CBS News.
It is not clear what analysis the president was referring to.
He also stated flippantly that “cocaine is illegal because it is made in Latin America, not because it is worse than whiskey.”
During his extended commentary, Petro went on to say that the best way to dismantle the illegal drug-trafficking trade would be to legalize the drugs being trafficked.
“If you want peace, you have to dismantle the business [of drug trafficking],” he said, according to the outlet.
“It could easily be dismantled if they legalize cocaine in the world. It would be sold like wine.”

Well, we know who HIS boss is.
Hunter? (Kidding)
Ummmm....I was looking for words to respond to this “statement”, but they have all failed me.
My first thought was the Columbia University president...
I like this Gustavo character. He sounds like a hoot to party with.
Well, that’s a bald-faced lie. Why not say fentanyl, moron!
“I was looking for words”
Let me try to help you. “President of Colombia labors for years to come up with the dumbest thing he could say.
Coke only wants you to take more. Thank God I got out of that trap.
Did he say this before or after he had a couple of bumps.
Hunter agrees.

Oh, for sure. It is truly a dangerous drug and will take you down to ugly depths.
The cartels.
What would Rick James say?
Having watched so much death and misery from booze and coke I think they are about equal.
Some coffee is grown in Colombia too, but for some reason it isn’t illegal.
The original Coca-Cola allegedly had about 9 mg cocaine per 5 oz of the beverage. A “bump” or “hit” of cocaine is supposedly around 100 mg while an addict-level “8 ball” (1/8th of an ounce) is 3500 mg. No one is around these days who ever sipped the coked-up Coke, but there’s been some speculation that the drug content might have induced some numbness in the mouth, tongue and gums and mild vasoconstriction but not anything resembling a “high.”
