BREAKING: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau staff told to work remotely as headquarters is shuttered amid DOGE probe - CNBC
NEWS: CFPB staff just received an email that the HQ in Washington will be closed the week of 2/10, per note from COO Adam Martinez
USAID playbook happening again
Of course. Because the DOGE people are not computer savvy enough to cut off network access in the meantime.
I assume you’re being sarcastic.
Good assumption.
It would be interesting if they backed up everything, tapped into the network and just watched what those who still have access try to destroy over the next week. It’s like a parent telling a child “I found your secret hiding place and what you have hidden there” just to watch the kid run to the back of the bedroom closet and look in the box there.
Keeping the lines open so people can still complain??
Funny. It’s so cool to see these idiots working in these agencies think that working from home was smart. All Musk has to do is unplug a few things and lock the front door of the building then dig into the treasure trove of data.
The sleeper has awakened.
Surely a Federal Judge can be found to order the CFPB staff back in the office, oh wait they are demanding to be allowed to work remotely. What to do, what to do?
Oh, yeah - Trump and DOGE are so far inside the Dems’ OODA loop that it’s worth a giggle or two. He’s the Chief Executive and owns the master key to the candy store and his team of nerds have been and gone by the time the Dems think of changing the lock on the door.
I think this is Elizabeth (not an Indian) Warren’s baby. This will be entertaining too.
Next hopefully they will be told not to work at all.
Pocohauntas buried that sucker in the Fed, making it harder to get at, but as we’re often reminded, Congress has “the power of the purse”.
Yup—old timers are the key players in leading the left.
They never saw this coming.
I have been incredibly impressed with the operational security from President Trump’s team.
The left has always used leakers and moles as a key part of their strategy—it takes outstanding execution to defeat them.
I think we have seen the pattern.
Find all the hidden grants and grift—stop that funding and abolish the jobs that “managed” them.
Notify those folks their positions have been abolished.
Rinse and repeat until all that remains is so small a staff that it is a rounding error in the personnel count of the agency that eats them.
I think this is Elizabeth (not an Indian) Warren’s baby. This will be entertaining too.

What’s she going to do? have another unhinged rally about Musk?
Video
Elizabeth Warren, in a hysterical rant, claims that Elon Musk is “seizing power from the American people.”

Excellent! The President has determined that the entire Federal bureaucracy should be intensively investigated to ferret out all traitorous Marxist-Democrat and RINO apparatchiks who are committing crimes with impunity as part of the Deep State’s anti-American conspiracy. Every patriotic American should be supportive of his program to get that done asap!
I thought I heard war drums off in the distance.
“....Consumer Financial Protection Bureau staff told to work remotely as headquarters is shuttered amid DOGE probe...”
Gosh, that is some pretty big balls on the person who told them to work remotely. I have to wonder how long they will last before they are fired by Trump?
Actually, I think it is time that Trump sends a stern message to all federal agencies about their need to cooperate with DOGE. The message should be to fully cooperate with DOGE or face the destruction, investigation, and reorganization of the agency by the entire Trump Administration (FBI, DOJ, etc.)
I also feel that Trump needs to use the Bully Pulpit to explain in a calm and detailed manner about how successfully DOGE is finding waste and corruption and why people have nothing to fear, unless they are hiding something.

Pursuant to the Consumer Financial Protection Act, I have notified the Federal Reserve that CFPB will not be taking its next draw of unappropriated funding because it is not “reasonably necessary” to carry out its duties. The Bureau’s current balance of $711.6 million is in fact excessive in the current fiscal environment. This spigot, long contributing to CFPB’s unaccountability, is now being turned off.

an almost useless agency
merely copied and in some instances mucked up
consumer oriented regulations already in effect via other, pre-existing agencies, bureaus, and commissions
it was openly known at the time of its creation that its primary purpose was to create some high-paid positions for friends of the DNC
we don’t need or want it. If perchance it has any genuinely useful consumer regulations they can be returned or assigned to other bureaus .. and may fare better there anyway
