Pete Hegseth just told Pentagon personnel that a massive audit is coming.

"We are going to focus heavily to ensure that at a bare minimum, by the end of four years, the Pentagon passes a clean audit."

"I believe we are accountable for every dollar we spend and every dollar of waste we find, or redundancy is a dollar we can invest somewhere else."

Let’s check out the $400 hammers. “By the end of four years” huh?

Advice to Pete—auditors need to visit every site (including contractor and subcontractor sites) and open every crate in inventory.

Assume everybody is a crook until proven otherwise.

Then you will be fine.

“End of 4 Years”? What happened to the end of year 1?

Last I heard, they were $12,000. You must have found a going out of business sale.

There are no $400 hammers. This was a manufacturing accounting error in a BOM.

Just like the rest of the criminals who hijacked government at all levels, they will find massive fraud at the Pentagon.

I want to see these people jumping out of windows, and those to chicken for suicide need to be prosecuted.

Yeah, what’s that about?

No wonder Bannon keeps saying DOGE has to target the DoD.

Also sounds like he thinks anything they find there will just be reinvested elsewhere in the department.

That had better not be so.

He should be committed to finding and clawing back all the fraud in recent years still within the statute of limitations. (And I don’t think there is a limit for treason.)

What is it now, something like over $800 Billion they can’t account for? I may be off some but that seems familiar from the last article about an audit I have seen.

Isn’t that what Congress allocated the money for in the first place?

I want to see D.O.G.E. start peeling away the layers of corruption in those NATO block grants.

My two cents is bring back the South Korean Garands we LOANED to them and I’ll reduce the national debt by a $1000 myself!

Time for defense contractors to find a district judge for an injunction to stop Pete’s audit. I’m sure an agreeable federal judge can be found in DC.

We need cuts across the board. We are killing our country with the overspending. Already we spend $1.5T a year just in interest on our debt, and we’re going trillions deeper into debt every year.

My ex Mother in Law worked for decades dealing with the Officer Housing at West Point and she told me that the Pentagon does dumb stuff that leads to things like that.

For years, she spent a certain number each year on Officer’s housing on Post. When Afghanistan and Iraq kicked off, alot of the Officers serving as Academic officers etc put in to get their Combat ticket punched. Therefore, she spent a lot less on housing. When those Officers and their families returned to post, they gave her a hard time about the increase she asked for in her budget. When she went to her boss, he told her to basically spend at the same level she had always spent at going forward.
