Florida first lady Casey DeSantis is considering running to replace her husband as governor when his final term runs out, according to a report.
Donors are pushing her to run because her husband, Gov. Ron DeSantis, cannot seek re-election when his second term ends in 2026, NBC News reported, citing multiple sources.
“I would say this: I have heard donors have been urging her to run and that while it’s not something she has wanted to do, they are causing her to at least stop and listen,” a source told the outlet.
The prospect — which would make her the Sunshine State’s first female governor — was openly touted at a gathering last week in Palm Beach County, the outlet said.

I remember reports over the years of Casey really being the operative in their marriage, with Ron as more or less her puppet.
IIRC there was some sort of intel background that she had that they worked very hard to bury.

Ron DeSantis has been the best administrator in the country within that State-level wheelhouse. He’s got the spine to be an awesome President, but is evidently a lousy campaigner. I don’t think he’d be as disruptive as Trump (which is needed), but I don’t think he’d make as much unnecessary internal political conflict. Internationally, I don’t know his capabilities. Trump certainly has vision, but methinks it a bit grandiose. This whole bit about taking over Gaza has me really spooked.
