Hungary's Orbán says he will do away with pro-democracy and rights groups receiving U.S. aid

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungary will take legal action to eliminate non-governmental organizations and media outlets operating in the country that receive funding from the United States and other international sources, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday.

Orbán, an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, said in statements on state radio that his government was going “line by line” through organizations operating in Hungary that have received financial assistance from the United States. He praised Trump's decision to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development, the agency charged with delivering humanitarian assistance overseas, claiming such aid had been used to fund organizations that sought to “topple” his government.

That’s code for “will end covert ongoing U.S. engineered color revolution in Hungary”.

I’m leery of a country’s leader eliminating private organizations outright within his country, but I don’t have a problem with him kicking them out of the country.

This must be like having a rat infestation in your home, and you discover that your neighbors are feeding the rats.

Anything labeled *democracy* or *democratic* is turning out to be just a code for leftist, elitist, globalists.

What an interesting article by the CANADIAN PRESS, re-published by MSN.

The title is polemic, not news, but it is worth repeating one paragraph:

“All money coming from America should be made public, and those who receive it should have sanctions enacted against them,” Orbán said. “You cannot accept money from abroad in order to influence Hungarian politics, and this will be legally enforced. Those involved will face legal consequences.”
So when the US has a foreign agents' law, when Hungary does it is becomes no longer "pro-democracy" in the verbiage of a Canadian media mouthpiece. Except, it isn't even the Canadian Press. The byline at the bottom shows the writer is from Associated Press.

This is especially interesting, because one reads Orbán-like words directly from Canada's CBC:

"The bill would make it an indictable offence under the Security of Information Act — punishable by up to life in prison — for anyone to, at the direction of a foreign entity, engage in "surreptitious or deceptive conduct" to influence a political or governmental process, which includes party nomination contests."

Government pitches foreign influence registry, new powers for CSIS in attempt to curb foreign interference CBC, 6 May 2024.

These United States have a FARA, Canada looked to create one only last year, and Hungary has the similar stance. Odd man out? The Associated Press' Justin Spike.

One need remain skeptical on much.

Right. Orbán is not trying to get rid of “pro-democracy and rights groups“. He’s instead examining organizations that operate with great foreign influence.

It’s just simple common sense, something that every country should do.

Obama & Biden hated Orban and Hungary. They put many economic screws to Hungary as well, weakening the Hungarian currency (Forint).

Orban has been the loudest voice in the EU speaking out against migration, the WEF and the Ukraine war....hence, they set out to destroy him as they tried to destroy Trump.

Hungary has a law very similar to ours. Foreigners are not supposed to be able to make political donations in the US.

“Does Soros still meddle there?”

He’ll have to step it up with US AID gone. But there’s a BIG PROBLEM. As rich as Soros is, about $8 Billion, it does not come close to USAID at $40 Billion PER YEAR alone, and likely many other US Government departments doing similar country-destroying activities.

So the Soros clan will have a tough time to keep from running out of assets.
