Federal judge pauses deadline for federal workers to accept Trump’s resignation offer

A federal judge paused Thursday’s deadline for federal employees to accept the Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer while more proceedings on the program’s legality play out.

The government will send a notice to the employees informing them that Thursday’s deadline is on hold.

Before the judge’s ruling, eligible federal workers had until 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday to decide whether to take the Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer, which will generally allow them to leave their jobs but be paid through the end of September.

The pause stems from a lawsuit that the American Federation of Government Employees and several other unions filed in US District Court in Massachusetts on Tuesday seeking a temporary restraining order to halt the February 6 deadline. The unions also want to “require the government to articulate a policy that is lawful, rather than an arbitrary, unlawful, short-fused ultimatum which workers may not be able to enforce.”

Appeal out of their court. This practice of Judge shopping to make sure your case is heard in front of a stodge Judge needs to stop

Then just fire them. There is no recourse for that.

MAGA will die a slow death if we can’t stop the judges. The left has been working on the lawfare one second after he won.

The delay will not affect the end date of the program, so these people will miss out on a lot of free couch time.

We will have to see if these Fed judges are on the take. Hopefully DOGE has already retrieved all the files.
Then turn over files to DOJ and prosecute judges for accessory to fraud.

This attempt to micromanage the executive branch is kinda amusing.

We have a thousand other tools in the toolkit being employed.

We have flooded the zone and the leftist creeps have just caught a couple of drops from a leaky faucet.

I curious did the Judge require the plaintiffs to produce a reasonable intellectual coherent argument on why this is supposedly “unlawful” and “arbitrary”?

TRO, subject to appeal.

The question on the table is whether POTUS has plenary authority to hire and fire government employees.

I believe the USSC will say he does.

Annoyed that a judge has interfered.
But we might get more resignations out of it.

I wonder what happens to the ones that have already accepted the buyout.

See post 10.

My analogy is imagine trying to drive a car with only two pieces of the car—a rear view mirror and a passenger seat.

The judges can only deal with the cases brought before them.

They can just tinker around the edges of MAGA.

Chin up.

We have got this.

THE UNIONS:

THEY CANNOT COLLECT DUES IF PEOPLE ARE NOT EMPLOYED...

BY MY CALCULATIONS——THIS IS ABOUT $8 MILLION A MONTH.

Even though peoople b.tch about how the SCOTUS doesn’t do right by us...it mostly does lately.

In this case...Trump can just fire them.

But for others...get it up the ladder as quickly as possible to the SCOTUS...can’t hurt.

MAGA is NOT dying a slow death...that’s the attitude that MAKE GREAT THINGS die slow deaths.

Geez...we run into a few roadblocks and some want to turn the car around

I still don’t get why one disgusting person can set policy for 350 million people.

If it goes to SCOTUS, I hope they’ve been reading the room, and understand what the citizens expect.
