It seems reasonable, we did put a Kenyan in charge of our entire country.

“The Federal Courts in DC have 6 ways from Sunday.”

Congress needs to review and modify the jurisdiction of the DC circuit. Their obvious partisanship has clouded their judicial performance.

I waiting for the financial connections to the federal judges and their families. The left likes to find favorable judges whose family members are likely benefiting financially from the Old Regime.

Agreed—great tactic—show the left a big shiny object to attack....while real work gets done right under their noses by folks whose names they will never know.

Pinging you PJT as you have I believe expressed similar sentiments.

Thanks for the ping.

I don't think it was me that you're thinking of, but since you asked I will delve into the issue.

If you read my home page you will find that I've been critical of Republicans being soft and letting Democrats steamroll them over and over, even when Republicans are holding the stronger hand.

I've detailed how Mitch McConnell has let Democrat majority leaders renege on deals where Republicans deliver something first on the promise of Democrat reciprocation to follow. Guess what -- it never does.

I've written about Democrats breaking some long-standing tradition or practice to harm Republicans and then crying whataboutism when Republicans try to respond (what I call the "kick me" syndrome).

I've written about how Mitch McConnell undermined his own caucus by refusing to support winnable Republicans because they were not going to be McConnell sycophants.

I've written about how Mitch McConnell won't work with his House counterparts they way that Schumer and Pelosi did to create a unified Republican Congressional front on issues. McConnell chose instead to think of himself as the Grand Dealmaker that caused turmoil between the chambers.

All this is to suggest that it's not Republicans who are weak in providing government oversight. It's that they don't have the "savvy," no, the "wile" -- better yet, the "guile" to think of the things that Democrats are capable of doing.

When Republicans tried to conduct oversight, Democrats conspired to use procedures to let Republicans think they were cooperating (see the Senator Jay Livingston (D-WV) "pull the trigger memo against Republican investigations in 2003) or they would submit false allegations to muddy the narrative (see the Adam Schiff (D-CA) memo in response to Devin Nunes), to point out just a few examples.

I believe that the Democrats are not interested in oversight because they are the ones who have built a Rube Goldberg system of funneling taxpayer monies to their outside support groups that will advance their causes. I believe that Republicans are slow to discover these things because they don't have the sense to look for it. When they do get an inkling of things, Democrats are quick to use the media to scare them off of the trail.

In return, Democrats are slow to confirm Republican Cabinet members when Republicans win the Presidency; Democrats are quick to use the Ethics Committees when Republicans control Congress (See: Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich, Bob Livingston, Mark Foley, Denny Hastert, Matt Gaetz).

What were the things that Republicans wanted to investigate?

  1. Bill Clinton Waco massacre.
  2. Bill Clinton quid pro quo with trial lawyers.
  3. Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski (meaning of "is").
  4. Bill Clinton selling missile technology to China via Loral Corp and Bernard Schwartz (Chinese couldn't launch successfully).
  5. Bill Clinton intelligence lapses and 9/11.
  6. Al Gore foreign campaign donations from Buddhist Monks in California (he drank iced tea and had to use the bathroom when it was discussed in the Oval Office).
  7. John Kerry involvement in Bush Texas Air National Guard forged documents.
  8. Barack Obama/Eric Holder running guns to Mexican cartels.
  9. Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton and the Benghazi attack and death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
  10. Barack Obama/Lois Lerner IRS targeting Tea Party 501(c)(3) groups.
  11. Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.
  12. Barack Obama/Samantha Power unmasking American phone calls.
  13. Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton "Russiagate."
  14. Joe Biden and firing Ukraine Burisma prosecutor.
  15. Joe Biden "Big Guy" pay-to-play kickbacks.

What were the things Democrats wanted to investigate?

  1. Richard Nixon and Watergate.
  2. Ronald Reagan and Iran/Contra.
  3. George W. Bush and Iraq WMDs.
  4. George W. Bush and Texas Air National Guard.
  5. Scooter Libby and Valerie Plame.
  6. Donald Trump and just about everything.

In summary, I think Republicans are ineffective at oversight because they are incompetent at it, and Democrats are ineffective at oversight because they are complicit in the activities that avoid oversight.

-PJ

Wonder how much Clinton stooge-”judge” Colleen Kollar-Kotelly is getting from USAID?

This is the same stooge that had a sad when Trump pardoned the abortion protestors she threw into prison to die.

She’s vicious Commie scum. We know how she’s going to “rule” on this.

Congress HAS oversight over these agencies. Why did THEY not find this level of wasteful spending? It’s not like it started in 2021.

I expect that we will find over the coming months that the answer to your question is because a good number of the vermin in congress were getting paid to "not find" things.

Dollar to Donuts that many of these judges are on the take and USAID will show it.

DOGE needs to investigate the finances of Judges Chutkan and Merchan.

“ The Federal Courts in DC have 6 ways from Sunday”

There should be no Federal Courts in DC no anywhere else within 100-150 miles.
