Senate confirms Zeldin [NY] to be EPA administrator

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) to take the helm of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

He was confirmed in a 56-42 vote. Democrats Mark Kelly (Ariz.), John Fetterman (Pa.) and Ruben Gallego (Ariz.) voted with Republicans in favor of his confirmation.

Zeldin was a surprise pick for the EPA administrator role because during his congressional tenure, he was more well known for working on international affairs.

But he has been a major defender of President Trump, including during the president’s first impeachment in 2019.

During his confirmation hearing, Democrats pressed Zeldin on climate change — given Trump’s frequent dismissal of the phenomenon as a hoax. They questioned him about opinion pieces he was paid to author, including those that reportedly criticized a variety of climate actions.

Not RFK that’s for sure. He wont get one by the sounds of it so the GOP will have to confirm him. It’ll be a tight vote like Hesgeth.

42 is a lot of rats, that makes nervous. The EPA has more direct impact on all of us than almost every agency. We need someone who will get it under control and out of our lives.

The may soon cometh, that “climate change”, or all its varied names, hangs around the necks of these self serving leftist lunatics. I hope I live to see the day. And I hope I’m on a warm beach when it happens. Hopefully with a nice rum punch grown from carbon spewing sugar cane crops.

Then abolish it. It was formed through an executive order, why should it not be abolished the same way?

Yes it would be better to eliminate it. It may be benign with reasonable people running it but as soon as the rats get it back it will come at us with a vengeance inflicting misery and Government dependence on all of us.

You would think they would want to keep him away from the NY Gov race.

Of course Climate Change is real. The climate has always been changing.

The question is whether the current theory of anthropogenic climate change is realistic, whether we can do anything about it, and what sensible policies look like.

A 180 degree turn at the EPA from the “climate change” fear by insane hoaxes is the appropriate response.

I would love to see the EPA reduced to about 10% of its current size, if we cannot completely abolish it.

It was cute the way that ALL DEMOCRATS voted-in Rubio as Secretary of State, only to Rubio, almost in his first day, cut off aid to Ukraine.

Suckers! What the Democrats failed to consider was that Rubio definitely wants to make another run at the Top Job, but knows he has to at least appear to support Trump. Whoops!

Zelden on Day One needs to herd 2/3 of the staff into the auditorium and put up a powerpoint slide that says YOU’RE FIRED; GO STRAIGHT FROM HERE TO THE PARKING LOT AND YOUR STUFF WILL BE BROUGHT TO YOU.

First thing he should do besides firing all the green weenies he can, is revoke the ruling that CO2 is a pollutant. It is not.

National sanity on Climate Control can’t come soon enough. Here in Washington State the Lefnick DemonKKKrat lawmakers are proposing House Bill 1630 that would require dairy farms and feedlots to report the annual metric tons of methane emitted by cows in the preceding calendar year. If the methane exceeds CO2 limits—25 thousand metric tons of CO2 emissions—those facilities would pay a tax under the state’s Climate Commitment Act – the same law that boosted gasoline prices 50 cents/gallon in Washington state.

That would increase the price of milk, a necessary nutrition for our health. It will also increase the price of beef.
