A member of the Idaho Army National Guard has filed a lawsuit to prevent his separation from the military after being investigated for religious and political speech he made as a private citizen.

Major David Worley, an infantry officer in the Idaho Army National Guard, is suing Idaho Gov. Brad Little (R), as Adjutant General of the Idaho National Guard Major General Timothy Donnellan, and Assistant Adjutant General of the Idaho Army National Guard Brigadier General James Packwood so he can remain in the military. Worley, who has served in the Army National Guard for over 22 years, has been told he will be separated from the military after an investigation into speech that his legal team believes is protected by the First Amendment.

Worley’s orders to serve as the commander of the Idaho Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion began on July 1st, 2023. His first day of work was July 5th, and “his unit had its pre-drill meeting with full-time staff” on July 7th, according to the federal lawsuit. During that meeting, Worley met the Sergeant First Class who filed a complaint against him on July 13th.

The complaint “alleged that Major Worley discriminated against the Complaining Guardsman due to his alleged sexual orientation, and that Major Worley (in the six days he was in command) had created a hostile work environment for the allegedly offended Complaining Guardsman,” per the lawsuit.

“The sole factual predicates of the EO Complaint against Major Worley were the press reports of Major Worley’s opposition to Drag Queen Story Hour and the pornography, obscenity, and other inappropriate materials for minors in the public library, and Major Worley’s speech on religious and moral issues that he gave as part...

He is being defended by Liberty Counsel, which is a good group. I contribute to Alliance Defending Freedom, which is another good group. This type of thing is prevalent in Canada, and has been poking around the edges here for years.

Stand firm or insidious incrementalism will prevail without most people ever realizing it until it is too late.

He told a gaurdsmen he didn't approve of drag queen hour and porno in public libraries. So the gaurd is forcefully separating him?

It's the National guard. I'm sure pdjt has something to say to the idaho national guard.

The commander of the Idaho National Guard better clean this mess up quick smart.

He may not even have until tomorrow morning to do it. President Trump is probably working tonight.

Let Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth adjudicate this issue. He has lots of experience in this area

It looks more like he objected to trans
Rather than just homos.
Homos who just do their job like all of us are ok
It is the trans freaks who demand we pay for their never ending meds and surgeries that have to be kicked out

So he’s one of the sane people. Hope Liberty can get a win on this. We support them, and they are successful most of the time, I think.

He told a guardsmen he didn't approve...

The subordinate went out and found news reports from when Major Worley gave speeches while running for office (mayor and then state senate) and used those as the basis for a complaint. He managed to create a hostile work environment in six days of being in command.

Simply not fawning over them enough can be deemed “discrimination.”

I’m not exaggerating.

FAFO. I think 4 or 5 senior officers are going to be the ones leaving now.

What the h*ll is wrong with Brad Little, a so-called “conservative?” And in Idaho of all places!

Trump should have a say in this.

Sounds to me like the hostile work environment was the soldier making a complaint against him for prior speech in his public life when running for public office. IMO that’s classic harassment. He’s being harrassed for =not approving of trans behavior=.

It’s almost like there needs to be a regulation in the military prohibiting ppl who define identity as sexual orientation. Serving their hormones is more important than serving the nation.

Get Them OUT!

That's why I always call them "pervert supremacists."

The Gaystapo.

Mayors have been censured for not declaring "pride" month and other city officials have been castigated for not showing enough "pride" by refusing to attend parades.

I somewhat agree, although subordinates are generally don't have the ability to create the work environment. The issue is with the leadership who received the complaint and acted on it, rather than telling the complainant to quit whining and go read the first amendment.

I hope the intended sarcasm or incredulity of my statement "He managed to create a hostile work environment in six days of being in command" came through as intended. In six days, a commander generally has time to make a "happy to be here" speech, move into and office, sign a bunch of papers, meet a few people, and that's it.
