How CNN Tried to Kill My Plea Deal
X (Brandon Straka) ^

Posted on 01/27/2025 2:24:31 PM PST by TigerClaws

On Oct. 5th, 2021, the day before my plea hearing, a reporter from @CNN named @MarshallCohen (seen below) Image

contacted the prosecutor in my case stating that he had evidence that I was planning to plead guilty the next day in court, but that I didn't really believe I was guilty. Cohen then asked the DOJ if they might like to rethink offering me a plea deal.

I was arrested and jailed on January 25th, 2021, after an FBI raid on my apartment over 8 minutes that I stood outside of the Capitol building shooting video. It's astounding that I would be charged with anything, but the Biden DOJ, led by Merrick Garland and Matthew Graves, saw fit to charge me with 2 felony charges and a misdemeanor- and threatened to add the now infamous 1512 "Obstruction of an Official Proceeding" felony to the pile of bogus charges if I dared to go to trial.

The Biden DOJ would not transfer jurisdiction of any J6 cases. All cases had to go before a DC judge and a DC jury, in a district that voted 93% against Donald Trump. By stacking the deck this way, DOJ got a 100% conviction rate at trial against Jan. 6th defendants. Because of this, going to trial was never an option for me.

My attorneys worked for 10 months to secure a plea deal with the government. It was an awful experience, as truth and justice had nothing to do with the process. It was all politics and posturing, and I was just a captive pawn in the game.

Nonetheless, after 254 days of negotiations that led to me being offered the deal of pleading guilty to a class B misdemeanor for disorderly conduct, the day before we were all set to go to court to make the plea deal official, Marshall Cohen of CNN sent the following email to the DOJ:

Cohen's attempt to get the DOJ to cancel my plea agreement, which would have forced me to trial in DC on numerous felonies, and likely would have resulted in me being imprisoned for years, was based on this email that I had sent my subscribers in the weeks leading up to October 6th:

To put this into perspective... one of America's major news outlets claimed to know that an American citizen believed he was innocent of a crime he was going to plead guilty to under the weight of the almighty federal government- but does @CNN contact this citizen to ask his side of the story?

Do they investigate if in fact the federal government is abusing its power to harm American citizens? Do they blow the lid off a story about government corruption that is forcing innocent people to plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit?

No.

@MarshallCohen of CNN saw an opportunity to use CNN's power to join forces with the federal government, and act as a de facto prosecutorial arm of the DOJ, and assist in ensuring that I be imprisoned for as long as possible, whether the allegations against me were true or not. Neither CNN nor Cohen ever contacted me to ask any of these questions. They were too busy helping the government prosecute J6 defendants.

Cohen, and other "journalists" like him, who aided the government in their corrupt witch-hunt against innocent people never dreamed they'd be held accountable for their actions, because they assumed Democrats would maintain power.

They certainly never dreamed Donald Trump and the MAGA republicans would be presiding over them in just a matter of a few years.

But that is the reality that Marshall Cohen will live with now. The question becomes- how do we hold these people accountable? Do Cohen's actions qualify as obstruction of justice, as he interfered in the legal process and attempted to change the outcome of a criminal case?

The overwhelming majority of Americans who voted for Donald Trump and rejected the values of the Democrats and Marxist writers like Marshall Cohen must never lose sight of holding all of these people accountable.

Now is the time.

So... Does this show DC is incapable of serious self-government?

How do we punish judges who acted in an inappropriately partisan manner?

Don't let them get away with it. They must be dragged to jail and stripped of their livelihoods! (Or worse.)

The piece of human garbage that was the “judge” in this case was Dabney Friedrich, a McConnell stooge that was confirmed 97 to 3.

The pretense is that she’s a “Trump judge” - but you don’t get on the US District Court for the District of Columbia with a 97 to 3 vote unless you’re “politically reliable”.

Heck, you usually don’t get appointed to the District bench, period, unless you’re “politically reliable”.

Which means they probably have dirt on her, or some other way of bending her to their will.

As I said - “politically reliable”:

Former Democrat Brandon Straka’s biggest crime was persuading other Democrats to walk away from the Democrat Crime Party.

(CNN) - With the stroke of a pen on Monday, President Donald Trump completely upended the Justice Department’s four-year effort to arrest, prosecute and punish the people who attacked the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. It was the largest criminal probe in American history, those who heeded Trump’s call in 2021 to come to Washington and try to stop Congress from certifying his 2020 election defeat. ...

“How do we punish judges who acted in an inappropriately partisan manner?”

The remedy in the Constitution is impeachment by the House of Representatives followed by a Senate trial resulting in removal from office.
