RINO Senator Thom Tillis Backed Away From Sinking Pete Hegseth's Nomination. Here's Why.

This post has been updated.

Sen. Tillis and Hegseth spoke for two hours today. Tillis said he'd support this nomination, barring any bombshell corroborating evidence. The NBC News hit piece did rankle the squishes, but luckily, Hegseth could calm the North Carolina Republican down.

From the beginning, I have been clear about my position: if President Trump’s nominees were reported favorably out of the relevant committees, I would support their confirmation on the Senate floor absent new material information about their qualifications. From the beginning, I have been clear about my position: if President Trump’s nominees were reported favorably out of the relevant committees, I would support their confirmation on the Senate floor absent new material information about their qualifications. Once Pete Hegseth’s nomination was sent to the floor by my colleagues on the Senate Armed Services Committee, I conducted my own due diligence, including asking tough questions of Pete and I appreciated his candor and openness in answering them.

Pete has a unique perspective as a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and is unquestionably passionate about modernizing our military and supporting the brave patriots like himself who serve our nation. I will support his confirmation and look forward to working with him to rebuild our military and advance President Trump’s peace through strength agenda.

Tillis votes for Hegseth. Talked to Hegseth for 2 hours today— Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) January 25, 2025

Mr. Tillis, life would be much easier for you if you stopped acting brain-dead on the simplest of votes.

"The NBC News hit piece did rankle the squishes..."

Is that the report that the sister-in-law claimed he abused his wife, while the wife declared none of it was true? Jackass Tillis has been in the Senate for 10 years now. You'd think he'd be immune to the BS stories the RATS and drive-by media rustle up. If he isn't, then he has no business in the job he's holding. He's a danger to every person in North Carolina, and an even bigger danger to this country.

What do you have against whores? With either of the two you mentioned, you could smell the Chlamydia at least a city block away.

It was set up by a rat law firm. They sent the story to NBC two days before they sent it to the Senate rats. The skank was a rat soldier. NBC was notified by the ex that it was BS but they didn’t care they wanted to take Pete out and deliver a loss to Trump and that punk Tillis came within inches of giving it to them. Thank God he was looking at an upcoming primary.

There is no way Thilis voted no after seeing how hurricane victims welcomed Trump just the day before.

He still wants to be a senator from North Carolina.

This stuff about unverifiable sexual allegation is of course Bullsh**

I’m sick of unverifiable allegations, often from *anonymous sources*.

Whatever happened to *innocent until PROVED guilty*?If the democrats didn’t pull this crap EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. a conservative or republican is nominated for some important position, I might be inclined to give it some credibility, but it’s so predictable at this point that it’s beyond ridiculous.

They’ve cried *WOLF!* far too many times.

About Tillis....the last time he was up was 2020. Obviously I wanted to do everything I could to make sure the DemoCommies didn't win and wanted to ensure the Republicans held onto the Senate so President Trump could keep putting more Originalists on the federal bench. I wasn't very thrilled with Tillis since it was obvious he was somewhat squishy and his buddies were RINOs but he was the nominee so....so be it.

His opponent who the Democrats dropped a pile of cash on to help win was leading in the polls. The guy had been in the military which counts for a lot here in North Carolina with the large military bases we have. One issue came out though. It turns out the guy was a Jody. He was screwing the wife of an enlisted man and even did so in his own marital bed. I pointed all these facts out to several women I know who I know were going to vote for him. I personally know 3 of them who switched their vote and voted for Tillis instead because of this.

Then the RINOs stabbed us in the back and were in on the Steal. I vowed then and there, Never again. I will NEVER support a RINO ever again. I'm not voting for Tillis if he gets the nomination. I'll do all I can to support a MAGA primary challenger and will support that candidate if they get the nomination but I will not vote for a backstabbing RINO ever again. Tillis was my last.

I get your point. But it’s likely Roy Cooper will become the next Senator in NC. He’s very popular. You may get annoyed with Tillis. But today is a great example, there was no way a Democrat Senator from NC would have voted to confirm Hegseth. But you got that from Tillis.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like Tillis is onboard for Tulsi and RFK Jr. too.

Facing re-election troubles coming up. He being Big Tobacco’s fake republican face-— always present in NC— his media ads are almost all about what he has done for “families” which is damn near nothing-— but more about distribution of goodies for “those in need”.

He finally gets he better get on board Trumps express.
