Royals consider tour of U.S. to renew 'special relationship' during country's 250th anniversary

The United States might welcome the royal family for a tour following the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

Historically, the United States and the United Kingdom maintained a strong alliance, carrying over between Presidential administrations. As Trump enters the first year of his second term, the senior royals are considering their options moving forward. According to The Times, they're looking to travel to the United States in 2026 in an effort to renew the countries' relations.

The official plans are yet to be set, but a source indicated that the British are hoping that Trump's affection for the Firm will act as an asset. A senior U.K. government source told the outlet: “Donald Trump has a clear affinity for the royal family. He had a great relationship with the late Queen, recently met Prince William and has spoken highly of King Charles. A royal tour to the U.S. would help reinforce the ‘special relationship.’"

Another insider noted that there is a clear strategy being considered involving "Playing up to [Trump’s] pro-monarchist tendencies" as a way to reinforce "soft power." The source added: “You saw that during his first administration and can expect to see it again.”

If the plan for 2026 is a go, the royals' arrival will coincide with the 250th year since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which saw a split between the United States and British rule. The country is set to begin celebrations for the iconic landmark later this year with the conclusion occurring on July 4, 2026.

The challenge that the UK has right now is that they have some freakish fools like Starmer having some power right now. The UK has lots of great fine people. But oh my do they have a real problem at 10 Downing Street right now.

Now I’d be hypocritical to say that my country has been free of such lunacies. Any of you remember Joe Biden and his 4 years of intense corruption? Oh my what a dark chapter in my country’s history.

Oh man what great memories I have on the 1976 bicentennial. Everyone was so patriotic, infused with the American spirit. We need to get that back, and thank God the 250th is happening under Trump.

Even Robert Plant got into the spirit:

Considering the BS of PM Sir Kier pushing for cessation of Diego Garcia to Mauritius, it might be a good time to encourage Royal intervention in the matter that could result in a constitutional crisis precipitating elections to eject the Marxist government.

I agree. I was only 5/6 years old, but the bicentennial year was a very exciting time. Red-white-and-blue everything, everywhere. Marriotts even opened up 2 bicentennial-themed amusement parks (”Great America” in CA and IL, with a 3rd park intended for VA but never built).

Things were a little rocky after Joe raised a skinny haunch and squeezed out that barely whistling, silent-but-deadly, skunk marinating in latrine aroma in the presence of Elizabeth II.

Horrific. And that “special relationship” is a hell of a stretch. Other than them speaking a minority dialect of English, we have little in common with them.
They have tried to destroy us twice since the revolutionary war, they infected America with their CFR globalism and dragging us into WWI through chicanery.
They have never regarded America as anything but something to be exploited for THEIR benefit. They spy on Americans for the CIA, their Royals constantly insult us.

Last, their behavior for the last decade regarding America has been horrendous. Their spy agencies lied about Trump with their fake Russian “Dossier”. The Labor party sent hundreds of workers to America to help elect Kamala.

The last thing we need is a “look at me” royal family visit during our celebration. The only way they are welcome is if the drop that royal act while they are here and just fall into line like any other guest.... and refrain from titles and courtly behavior expectations.

Wear baseball hats and jeans. Then they'll blend in.

Otherwise, they should find another time to visit if they want to visit as Royals.

Why invite a group overseeing a leftist/Islam takeover in Englandistan?
The monarchy has basically NO sway over what happens over there. The only special relations would be to arrange the royals to get asylum over here.

Likewise. I was 13 at the time. After Vietnam and Watergate, people just wanted to get back to some sense of unity and feeling good about their country again. The parallels between then and now are striking.

Fond memories of the Bicentennial at age 11, especially of celebrating with family members long gone now.
