First of 10,000 troops arrive at the border to deport migrants following Trump's executive order

The 1,500 additional active duty troops Donald Trump deployed to the southern border began arriving on Thursday morning.

The Pentagon confirmed the 1,000 Army soldiers and 500 Marines deployed south include those from Military Police units as well as combat engineers and intelligence specialists to aid in detection and monitoring of illegal border jumpers.

The additional active forces, which adds to the roughly 2,500 already currently stationed along the border, will also aid in constructing barriers along the border and providing the air power for deportations.

Defense Department officials confirmed their forces will fly the 5,400 migrants who are currently in detention out of the U.S. on deportation missions.

The aircrews and maintenance teams involved in the missions are in addition to the 1,500 deploying to the border by the end of the week.

Four C-17 and C-130 military aircraft were moved to El Paso, Texas, and San Diego, California this week, an official told Task & Purpose.

Arrests and deportations already began on Tuesday, with Trump's border czar Tom Homan confirming that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 308 illegal migrants in the first full day of the new administration.

Trump is planning to send a total of 10,000 active duty military to the border.

They’re going to be working...putting up walls, wire etc. They have no police power. Thousands of our guys are sent to foreign countries when they need help. We’re the good guys and anyone who objects to these guys and gals on the border...well...they can shove it.

“Se estima que anualmente hay alrededor de 3 millones de entradas ilegales en los Estados Unidos: la mayoría de los migrantes entran clandestinamente en camiones que pasan la frontera, si bien se han observado casos en que los viajes se han hecho a pie, por ferrocarril o incluso por túneles especiales.”

https://www.unodc.org/toc/es/crimes/migrant-smuggling.html

The UN estimated about three million a year were (and still might be) coming across, mainly in trucks.

Better news not mentioned - the forces are fully armed and, if fired on, will fire back. Too bad the Marines gave up their tanks, but they do have HIMARS for the occasional uppity cartel

US Military troops will not deport any one. They are just there for transportation,Intelligence and logistics support. Being ex-military I can assure you that you don’t want the military arresting people. That has not been their mission since the end of the civil war and it didn’t turn out very well for them or people in the South. So congress wisely said the US Military can’t act as police. They can guard territory or take a hill, but have no training to arrest people.

They have orders to fire if fired on - cartels often fire on the BP. No one said they are police, or are going to deport or arrest anyone, that’s not their job.
