Trump Revokes Security Detail for Pompeo and Others, Despite Threats From Iran

President Trump revoked security protection for his former secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, and a former top aide, Brian Hook, despite warnings from the Biden administration that both men faced ongoing threats from Iran because of actions they took on Mr. Trump’s behalf, four people with knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.

Mr. Pompeo and Mr. Hook had been part of an aggressive posture against Iran during the first Trump presidency, most notably the drone strike that killed the powerful Iranian general Qassim Suleimani in early 2020.

Mr. Trump also remains under threat because of that action, and his advisers have regularly stressed the seriousness of the situation in the years between his two terms in office.

Mr. Pompeo and Mr. Hook had their security details, which were believed to be provided by the State Department, pulled on Tuesday, one of the people briefed on the matter said. A day before, Mr. Trump pulled the U.S. Secret Service detail of John R. Bolton, who was Mr. Trump’s third national security adviser and also faces threats.

What’s a murderous, warmongering neocon to do? Has anyone checked, does Nuland get any type protection or perk from the government other than her bloody retirement checks?

Threats from Iran? So if we get rid of Pompeo Iran will attack us? Maybe I’m a little hard of understanding today? (/s)

They can live in high-security, luxury high-rises.

I doubt Iran would give Trump an excuse to deeply deplete American bomb inventories.

It would take at least 5 officers to provide around the clock protection. This times 3 would be 15 officers plus officers to cover vacations sick time and holiday. I would guess they are north of 150 k a year. Maybe in the neighborhood of 3 million. How many others are getting such protection?

Maybe this is a subtle warning to recalcitrant RINO Senators to get in line or they will NOT be assisted in the event of a threat. "Senators Murkowski, McConnel and Collins, please note we have stopped the protective details of former Republicans."

DESPITE THREATS. There it is in the headline for all to see. If something happens to them it sets up the ‘I told you so’.

Like the Times cares about these people? Not Pompeo or the walrus mustache fella.

Pompei has resources to protect himself. And why should Iran want to off him, in Wichita?

Keeping Nuland secure for international court?

Although, I doubt POTUS has found Pompeo nor Bolton are of any interest to IRAN.

If either are at risk, POTUS would not lift security. Otherwise, should either of the two formers get a hangnail, POTUS opens the door for problems with his image.

Trump has it all, by now. His 🍅 truck days are over, concerning enemies within.

Pompeo is rolling in his MIC kickbacks. If he needs more cash for security let Raytheon put him on another board or such.

Agreed.

But, Pompeo never supported Trump and it was noticeable.

Pompeo had stars in his eyes for power and then ran against Trump in 2020 primary, knowing the Cabal was killing Trump’s re-election chances.

I'm guessing it's due to stuff like this:

Mike Pompeo slams Trump on Fox News saying his handling of secrets put US troops in danger

Mike Pompeo takes a swipe at Trump policies amid rumors of 2024 bid
