Seven San Antonio, Texas police officers were shot by a barricaded suspect Wednesday night, the city's police chief said. The suspect was found dead from a gunshot wound, he added.
Chief William McManus told reporters the incident began when officers responded to a call from a family member of the suspect regarding a "suicide in progress" at an apartment complex in the Stone Oak neighborhood of north San Antonio.
The first officer who arrived "was shot in the lower extremity," McManus said.
"Another officer arriving after him, or about the same time as him, was also shot," the police chief continued. "Third officer arriving on the scene was shot as well. And finally, the fourth officer who arrived on the scene was shot, I believe that was in the upper torso."
The four officers were hospitalized with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, McManus said.

He had described the suspect as a man in his 40s.
"The suspect had three arrests on Jan. 18, two for assault offenses and one for DWI. He was out on bond at the time," McManus said.

Many Moons ago also in S/A a guy hid in cammo inside shrubs and called the Be ar (pronounced “Bear”) County Sheriff and IIRC reported a Domestic incident and killed multiple Deputies upon arrival one after the other. They finally capped his A$$ but not before he killed the Deputies,
This guy save us the cost and trouble of a trial.
One would think that story was passed along to new recruits. Unsettling multiple LEO were caught off guard again.
Coulter’s Law applies.
“The suspect had three arrests on Jan. 18, two for assault offenses and one for DWI.”
And of course CBS censored out the perp’s name, wonder what it is. /s
SA cops need some additional training.
Bexar County?
I am guessing that the author of the article is a journalism or communications major.
Yet, this is one of the most disjointed articles I have read is quite some time.
The sentence above shows a lack of understanding how law enforcement works. This person should not be working crime stories.
What are the chances that any person could manage to get arrested three times in one day. Much more likely this man was arrest one time on January 18, on three charges.
I say it often; these news organizations need to hire editors, lots of editors.
Yes. Pronounced “bear”, not “bex-er”
Yes, I just saw that the “x” was missing.
Very true.
Almost like Waxahachie.🤠

There was a suicide in progress so the cops showed up and killed him? Maybe I need another cup of coffee.
It’s burn it, dern it, learn it! Welcome to Burnet.
Several officers were shot. Who started the gun fight when they arrived? Yup, the dead guy.
Not this time, apparently:

IF this is the work of an intern and it got on the web un-edited someone needs to get their butt handed to them.
The work on any intern should always be checked before it reaches the customer. At least until they have proven themselves competent.
This work is incompetent. It never should have seen the light of day.
