I watched the entire segment and don’t quite understand how significant this is. I do know the America of my youth did not react to foreign competition by manipulating markets with borrowed trillions. The United States of the 60s simply out innovated, out discovered and out produced any potential competitor. If this is the road back to dominance, I’m all for it.

Based on a review of the transcript and from watching the press conference last night, it appears that Project Stargate will be privately funded (thank goodness). The $500 billion investment comes from a consortium of private entities, including Oracle, SoftBank, OpenAI, Nvidia, and Microsoft.

The government’s role appears to focus on providing regulatory and logistical support, facilitating energy production, and creating favorable conditions to attract and sustain private investment.

The amount of energy required for AI is enormous. This will eradicate the greenies. You can’t run AI on imaginary energy like solar and wind. It will also bring 10s of thousands of jobs to America. It might eliminate jobs elsewhere though.

Drill baby drill and Yes nukes!

I think the idea is for the “people” to eat worms and live on imaginary energy.

Only the governments, corporations and their leaders will have all the energy and food they need.

The drones either gun mounts that you see selectively targeting via voice commands are nothing. The stuff the military already has that can operate autonomously and using facial recognition combined with a host of other target location tools is scary beyond belief.

What would stop a government from unleashing these on its own citizenry?

Exactly. I’m thinking about going all in on oil/LNG in the near term and uranium for a longer play.

It scares the bejeebers out of me.

“Google co-founder Larry Page once called Elon Musk a ‘specist’ for not caring about AI sentiments.

Musk, in a discussion with CNBC’s David Faber, described his long evenings of discussions with Page, where he stressed the importance of being cautious about the potential risks associated with AI. However, Musk claims that Page was mostly unconcerned about the nature of AI and displayed a ‘cavalier’ attitude toward its implications. Musk went on to reveal that, at the time, Google had acquired DeepMind, possessing a significant share of the world’s AI talent, making it a dominant force in the field.”

Musk said, “So, I used to be close friends with Larry Page and I would stay at his house and we’d have these conversations long into the evening about AI and I would be constantly urging him to be careful about the danger of AI and he just he was really not concerned about the nature of AI and was quite cavalier about it.”

The election of Donald Trump.

I might be wrong but I think the money is from private investments.

As technology advances, so too must our ability to defend against its misuse. Anti-drone systems are just one example of how technology can—and must—be developed to protect citizens from harm.

Stargate = AI + mRNA

WTF?

Add in neuralink and I see two types of human in the future. The enhanced and the organic.

Since the election, I have been moving more funds into energy stocks and etf’s/funds. Bought some stock in a nuclear company last week and may buy some more this week.

This is a huge announcement on many fronts .

Consider it the first phase of the Manhattan Project of the 21st Century.

He who controls AI will control the world and left behind will have a very hard time keeping up.

AI, or machine learning, and it's related technology is the nuclear energy of our generation. It can be used for good and bad , and it can be used for military and civilian

And , like nuclear weapons, love them or hate them, you have to have them because if iyou don't and the other guy does - you are a dead duck.

The Biden Administration was deliberately trying to stifle and mis direct the development in AI and to choose the winners and losers via political pressure in the United States to sabotage American AI dominance and to make sure that AI infrastructure was not implemented within our borders.

What Team Biden cannot force off shore , they want to make sure their cronies get the market dominance via government funding - see the Biiden's last minute steering of 6.6 billion tax payer dollars to failing electric car and truck maker Rivian.

This would have done irreparable damage to America's economic development similar to what happened to post WWII Great Britain and would have strengthened our enemies , especially China.

Call it sabotage by strategic neglect and inaction.

This also is significant because it marks the defection of large swaths of the tech world from blind loyalty to the Democrats to the Republicans under Trump.

The Tech people immediately realized what the Biden Administration China centric commissars were up to and how destructive it would be to their interests and to the future of America and they rebelled. This also is defacto the end of the Green Energy Era as America will have to invest in fossil fuel power plants and ultimately nuclear power plants to meet the power demand

The communists learned from the 1973 Energy Crisis that the way to destroy America was to destroy it's energy production and it has been their goal ever since to shut down our access to inexpensive energy and power generation of all types with restrictions of nuclear power and fossil fuels.
