Elise Stefanik Vows To Fight 'Anti-Semitic Rot' at United Nations

New York Republican calls for 'snapback sanctions' on Iran, spars with some Democrats during confirmation hearing.

Elise Stefanik, President Donald Trump's nominee for United Nations ambassador, vowed to fight the "anti-Semitic rot within the United Nations" and argued that Israel has a "biblical right" to the West Bank during her Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday.

Stefanik, a Republican congresswoman from New York, said she will focus on combating anti-Israel bias and defunding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency—the Hamas-linked organization that delivers aid in Gaza—if confirmed as ambassador.

"Our tax dollars should not be complicit in propping up entities that are counter to American interest, anti-Semitic, or engaging in fraud, corruption or terrorism," said Stefanik during the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

She criticized UNRWA over its terrorist ties, noting that "Hamas leader Sinwar [was] carrying an UNRWA teacher's passport" when Israeli soldiers killed him and that there were "individuals within UNRWA who participated in the terrorist attack against Israel on October 7."

"We should never tolerate any U.S. taxpayer funds going towards terrorism," she said. "So I fully support the President's commitment to defunding [UNRWA], and I'm proud to have voted for that in the Congress."

She is the right lady for the job as the US Ambassador to the UN.

If the US will not fund the UN for its anti-semitic, pro-terrorist actions then it means we’ll save all the money.

Probably 2-3 days out of a year would be chargeable. When they close the place and clean and then wax all the floors.

Easier way to win: end funding UN, move head quarters off US soil, problem solved.

She’s young, gutsy, and articulate of Presidential caliber. She still has a lot to learn about liberty and economy, but she does have both the aptitude. After 8 years of JD Vance, by then she could have the experience to do the job well and we should know if she’s worthy of it.

If she’s really right for that job, she should spend a month there.

And the report back to Pres Trump that;

1. It’s almost beyond repair

2. It should be forced to relocate to another country given how much it hates the U.S.

3. Withdraw from the Security Council

4. Only provide logistical and supply help

5. Give it 6 months to find a new home and then start revoking visas and all diplomatic credentials/courtesies.

Same for the IMF. WHO should be given 30 days

Yes Sir. More Winning Indeed.

Trump is doing a better job of choosing so far. Without the help of a Dem transition team.

She’s young, gutsy, and articulate of Presidential caliber.

It's a waste of talent to put her at the UN.

Trump should have placed a young Stephen Miller (when he was in his 20s) instead. Someone who's articulate and can take orders from the President.

Nikki Haley appeared to do a good job 7 years ago.

The foxes are in charge of the hen house at that place. Has been for a long time. There has to be a reckoning about how it operates. I believe that there should a type of forum for the nations to exercise advanced diplomacy through, but NOT like this, NOT in its present form.

Totally agree.

Trump does much better going directly to other nations we trust.

The UN has to be replacec by a legit block of countries interested in freedom.

And UK isn’t party to it.

She was my choice for Veep. She still has blood on her mouth from the two Ivy League Presidents’ scalps.

Vance may turn out ok. I dislike immensely his love-fest with liberal Democrats like Elizabeth Warren on bank regulation. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/05/j-d-vance-senate-banks-00104432

Anyone who sounds like an Occupy Wall Street denizen is suspect.

As VP candidate he was good. Time will tell.

I believe that there should a type of forum for the nations to exercise advanced diplomacy through, but NOT like this, NOT in its present form.

A global League of Nations, United Nations, United Federation of Planets, etc. is not possible because the vast majority of countries on Earth are s-hole countries. Giving every country equal representation just devolves into the s-holes banding together to try to fleece the civilized countries, who they outnumber.

There’s a good reason that colonialism occurred, and most of the countries who were colonized were better off for it (until they rejected colonization and fell back into the primitive muck). It’s pointless to give primitive people who can’t even run their own country a voice in running the entire world.

It's a waste of talent to put her at the UN.

But it's not a waste of an education in international affairs with which to qualify for the Presidency.
