WASHINGTON (AP) — The former leader of the Proud Boys and the founder of the Oath Keepers have been released from prison after their lengthy sentences for seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol were wiped away by a sweeping order from President Donald Trump benefiting more than 1,500 defendants.
Enrique Tarrio and Stewart Rhodes were two of the highest-profile Jan. 6 defendants and received some of the harshest punishments in what became the largest investigation in Justice Department history. Rhodes, of Granbury, Texas, was serving an 18-year prison sentence, and Tarrio, of Miami, was serving a 22-year sentence after they were convicted of orchestrating plots to stop the peaceful transfer of power after Trump, a Republican, lost the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden.
Their attorneys confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday they had been released hours after Trump pardoned, commuted the sentences of or ordered the dismissal of cases against all the 1,500-plus people who were charged with federal crimes in the riot.

NO judges born in another country should exist. This Marxist demon Mehta who sentenced Rhodes was born in India. There should be the same restrictions as for President - only U.S.-born citizens.
Torio wasn’t even there and got 20 years. Illegal alien murderers, rapists, pedos, drug dealers, and thieves get released out the back door sans bond so ICE can’t deport them.
I nearly fainted early this morning when I heard that so many pardons were issued. But many are actually commutations, so President Trump really is working on a case by case basis. I thought he should do that, as opposed to a “blanket pardon.”
And Turley didn’t seem too surprised because the DOJ had made its own bed by the excessive charging.
Only 6 commutations and those are under review.

Jan 6th alumni here... (not incarcerated).
Lots of MAGA showed up in battle rattle, expecting to clash with antifa and blm scum. Those in attendance like myself, wished that we too had thought to bring self defense gear, once those with battle rattle were spotted in our ranks.
Personally, I picked up rocks from a small landscaped area in front of my hotel, which I planned to place in a plastic grocery bag, that I had also stuffed in my pocket, to be used as a crude weapon when combined with the rocks, for self defense purposes.
It turns out, antifa and blm stood down and failed to materialize as opposition forces. That being said, it is likely that some of them were in MAGA gear, stirring up trouble and egging on the excitable, patriotic, and or possibly some, that were naive to their mendacious ways.
Some of the Oath Keepers and or Proud Boys, stayed at the same hotel as did I and my companion, a fellow coworker and roommate, who was years later, arrested at our jobsite. To the credit of both groups, the OK’s & PB’s, who took a shepherd’s role in being at the front of the crowd lines, as they were sporting battle rattle and fully expected to clash head on with antifa and blm.
In hindsight, I wished that I had brought along a large capacity long distance backpack, stuffed with about 18 Louisville Slugger baseball bats, that I would have handed out to the front lines IF antifa and blm showed up and started attacking us.
It can’t be emphasized enough, that just about everyone there that day, fully expected to be attacked by hostile antifa and blm protestors. It is to everyone’s credit, that all of us acted in spite of the expected clashes, and showed up at the mall to support PDJT.
The caterwauling over at Democrat Underground over all of this is a thing to behold.
