U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "destroying Russia" by refusing to negotiate an end to the war with Ukraine. "I think Russia's going to be in big trouble." Acknowledging the prolonged conflict in Ukraine, Trump added: "He can't be thrilled he's not doing so well. I mean, he's grinding it out, but most people thought that war would have been over in about one week, and now you're into three years, right?"

I wonder what it is they insisting Russia give up?
When exactly has Putin refused to negotiate? Give us the times and statements. Or do you mean he has refused to commit suicide and surrender Russia to the global elite and their puppet oligarchs? Perhaps if he raised a rainbow flag over the Kremlin or played a piano with his penis?
What Kurakhovo doink?
A Peace Deal will be worked out between Trump and Putin.
Zelensky is just along for the ride.
I guess this makes Trump a “Zeeper” now, to use the favored pejorative parlance thrown around on these threads these days by a certain element.
Also from the same English-language article published by the "news" sponsored by a foundation in the Netherlands, which is asking for donations....
" 'I got along with him great. I would hope he wants to make a deal,' the U.S. president said."The most interesting part of the Moscow Times (Netherlands) article is the byline. AFP.
The article is re-published from Agence France Presse some days back.
You, as USA-FRANCE, would do well publishing the original from FRANCE. Besides, Timber Rattler beat you to this yesterday.

There are many examples of Russia criticizing Trump’s peace plan, here is one of them:
Russian foreign minister Lavrov:
“We are not happy, of course, with the proposals made by members of the Trump team to postpone Ukraine’s admission to NATO for 20 years and to station British and European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine,” “

Actions speak louder than words.
In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Putin ‘Destroying Russia’ by Refusing Ukraine Deal, Trump Says, USA-FRANCE wrote: Wow! Trump is saying EXACTLY what I have been saying for three years here on FR. I was called a "Zeeper" by Putins's Neo Soviet "Z-Boys" for saying precisely what Trump just said. Thus, maybe those who called me that way now presumably think Trump is a Zeeper as well then? Life is beautiful. Trump has decided to stand up against the Islamo-NeoSoviet-Commie Alliance (IRAN-Russia-North Korea) - thereby protecting America First and the West. Thank you. The Ukrainian shills on FR really paved the way for discourse by denouncing anyone who disagreed with them out of concern for nuclear war as 'Putinistas' to conceal our real concerns from the public. I turn a deaf ear when you complain that they responded by referring to you as a Zeeper. "Don't want none? Don't start none!"
Trump is preparing the ground for negotiations, so his comments are not literal, yet. You won't understand this, but it's an American thing Trump is good at.
The public has been primed to be suspicious about Trump's relationship to Russia after years of the Russia!,Russia!, Russia! hoax. And he's entering into negotiations wherein he has to consider both sides of the war, and you are hearing about the Russia side. But when Trump has previously commented about the other side, Zelensky, you haven't liked what Trump said.
Trump has always been standing up against those who would diminish America, he's always been against Communism, Fascism. Trump is America first and he knows Putin is Russia first.
Trump also said, "You know, you want to help the Ukrainians, but Ukraine is among the most corrupt nations on earth."
Trump correctly blames Zelensky for starting the war with Russia, suggested the Ukraine may have to cede land to Russia, and said that Zelensky is the 'greatest salesman on Earth' and in America, that's a backhanded criticism (he thinks Zelensky can manipulate and talk people out of money).
Trump blames Ukraine's Zelenskiy for starting war with Russia
In 2022, Zelensky made it illegal, by decree, to negotiate with Russia. Trump knows Zelensky ensured that no peace deal could be reached, so Zelensky's screams for negotiations now are completely hypocritical - Zelensky's decree is likely still in place, as it was in November of 2024. Left to his own abilities, Zelensky would continue the war until only piles of dirt are left in Ukraine. Trump said elsewhere that (paraphrasing), "You hear 'save the Ukraine'! but then you look at the cities without a single building left standing. That's a 110 year reconstruction effort." By that, Trump points to Zelensky's guilt in conducting himself in a manner that has reduced entire cities to '110 year reconstruction efforts.' Zelensky needed to negotiate and refused.
Trump just signed an Executive Order pausing all foreign aid for 3 months. Zelensky may have to get a job or something, because he and his government (salaries, pensions) are completely dependent on foreign aid, and America donates the most, by far.
I look forward to the end of the war.
I don't agree with you. In your culture, that means you 'have to' call me names now.
WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Advisers to President-elect Donald Trump now concede that the Ukraine war will take months or even longer to resolve, a sharp reality check on his biggest foreign policy promise - to strike a peace deal on his first day in the White House.
Two Trump associates, who have discussed the war in Ukraine with the president-elect, told Reuters they were looking at a timeline of months to resolve the conflict, describing the Day One promises as a combination of campaign bluster and a lack of appreciation of the intractability of the conflict and the time it takes to staff up a new administration.
Those assessments dovetail with remarks by Trump’s incoming Russia-Ukraine envoy, retired Lieutenant-General Keith Kellogg, who said in an interview with Fox News last week that he would like to have a “solution” to the war within 100 days, far beyond the president-elect’s original timeline.
"So, Putin is now saying, 'It's independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' And he's gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That's strongest peace force… We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen. There were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're gonna keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here's a guy who's very savvy… I know him very well. Very, very well.--- "Wow! Trump is saying EXACTLY what I have been saying for three years here on FR." Well, that depends, and the coming weeks will prove out what our President Trump will say and do, and what your President Macron also will say and do."By the way, this never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable. This would never have happened. But here's a guy that says, you know, 'I'm gonna declare a big portion of Ukraine independent,' he used the word 'independent,' 'and we're gonna go out and we're gonna go in and we're gonna help keep peace.' You gotta say that's pretty savvy. And you know what the response was from Biden? There was no response. They didn't have one for that. No, it's very sad. Very sad." Cela peut être très amusant!
“I wonder what it is they insisting Russia give up?”
Nothing. Take your troops and send them home to be with their families. Zelensky does the same. And if they choose not to do it, American LNG and Petroleum prices are going to drop in Europe, bankrupting both countries.
Trump has a full toolbox loaded with carrots and sticks and as we saw, he isn’t afraid to use them. Especially with a Republican house and senate.
“Trump has a full toolbox loaded with carrots and sticks”
But does he have spare artillery shells?
Maybe he can send 10 more Abrams tanks to Ukraine. That would make it 41 total sent I believe.
Much to Putin’s Amen Corner disappointment, Trump will be giving no quarter to Vlad the neo-communist rat. Part of the reason is that Trump must be tough on your Boy Bad Vlad, due to all the Dems + media Russia collusion propaganda. That I assure you at least 40% of Americans still believe was real.
Vlad’s RooskiLand (and Iran by the way) is about to be suffer full US sanctions, to get Vlad scurrying into real and fair negotiations, to end his Ukraine invasion war.
Who Hoo In, Happy New Year Ransomnote!
Notice how all the Ukraine complainers here. Who hate the US aiding Ukraine. They never acknowledge how Vlad Putin and the Iranian Mullahs are joined at the hip. In making war against the West, including Israel.
Russia has being buying billions in war materials from Iran and North Korea. Is Russia paying them with transfers of missile technology. Probably.
“American LNG and Petroleum prices are going to drop in Europe”
I have a feeling that it is cold in the eastern USA. I suspect the American ability to export natural gas is suffering too.
And given that Biden closed off new offshore fields, maybe the companies that have natural gas fields in production might not choose to sell at lower prices.
Hot air from Trump won’t heat a house, never mind Europe’s houses.
“Hot air from Trump won’t heat a house, never mind Europe’s houses.”
Those billions that would be saved from not financing Ukraine’s war could go to help people heat their homes, take care of their children, decrease prices.
