January 20 was one of the most extraordinary days in American history. Donald Trump’s inauguration was like no other, even with unusually cold weather putting a damper on things. Some initial observations:
*Trump is capable of successfully navigating multiple staircases, without stumbling, without hesitating and without using handrails.
*At the military First Honors ceremony, he had no difficulty hitting his marks, walking where he should have walked, and knew when to salute, how to salute and when to stop saluting.
...
*General Mark Milley’s portrait at the Pentagon was removed.
*The TSA Administrator responsible for politically putting Tulsi Gabbard on a no-fly list was fired at noon.
*Most political speeches are full of “soaring rhetoric” but little substance, little about promises kept and real accomplishments. Not Trump’s inaugural speech. He told us what failed and what he was doing—in some cases had already done—to fix it.
*Most Americans don’t believe anything politicians promise. Every American, to their joy or horror, had no doubt Trump would do what he promised.
...
*Trump made recognizing only two genders—male and female--official US policy.
*Anyone horrified by such things as two genders, border emergencies or energy emergencies doesn’t belong in this country nor should they call themselves American.
*One of the great disappointments of the Inauguration was the sadly absent garbage truck. I was really looking forward to that.
*One of the great moments in American history was watching the faces of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as Trump listed the damages they’ve inflicted on us, and what he’s going to do to repair them. That’s how it’s done.

I agree, especially regarding the absent garbage truck.
January 20, 2025 Inauguration Day was an amazing day. Thank you God.
So the unions have sued Trump under FACA for DOGE. But as we discover DOGE is not an advisory committee. It is an office of commissioned representatives of the President to examine what is going on in the agencies and ensure that his orders are being followed. This is an infringement on the core functions of the President.
Maybe it will eventually reappear on rolls of toilet paper.
It never occurred to me to pay attention to whether or not Trump can negotiate staircases, find his place on stages and give salutes as Commander-in-Chief, and I sure as hell am not gonna start now.
Doesn’t it also depend on how DOGE actually operates? I would think that if it begins to act like an advisory committee, even if only occasionally, it might become subject to FACA.
Legal interpretations often consider public perception and the intended function of such bodies. If DOGE is promoted or perceived as a mechanism for public or expert input into government operations, this perception might push it closer to the FACA definition, even if its formal structure suggests otherwise.
“ I agree, especially regarding the absent garbage truck.”
It was low 20s and windy. They couldn’t do it outside without someone getting hurt- frostbite
They couldn’t drive a diesel truck through the indoor parade.
I’ll bet the faint of heart in the Trump party/family is told to kwicherwhinin! 8 am to past midnight walking talking and staying awake.
List of polilitical prisoners that were incarcerated by the tyrant Biden who were let go last night
Also absent: no handshakes with invisible people.
And the biggest news story is... Musk making a Nazi salute to the crowd, blowing up the internets it is.
Trump is off to a good start, I hope this massive day one change happens each and every day.
As a considerable perhaps even unbelievable feat, after perhaps 10 hours of ceremony, President Trump set at his Oval Office desk and for the best part of an hour, conducted a news conference while signing many of the promised Executive Orders.
His action was as conversational as any personal encounter between ordinary people absent all the official trappings. The Oval Office news conference was a magnificent feat accomplished with total aplomb and apparent ease.
The Golden Age is truly upon us
I saw some of that presser in the Oval Office. Wasn’t that the one in which Peter Doucy told him about the “letter” left by Slo-Joe?
Yes....... the President produced the letter and waved it around, unread.
DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THE TSA firing-—GREAT !
