President-elect Donald Trump is expected to punish more than 50 national security officials who claimed the news of Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
The incoming president has plans to suspend the security clearance of the 51 pro-Biden officials who signed a now-infamous memo claiming that damning pictures and messages found on the First Son's laptop bore 'all the classic earmarks' of a Russian disinformation campaign, Fox News reports, citing a senior official familiar with the matter.
Among the coordinators of the infamous memo were Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.
The memo allowed the elder Biden to discredit the laptop and its damning evidence during presidential debates, town halls and other media appearances prior to the election.
But an FBI agent announced that the agency confirmed the authenticity of the materials found on the device at Hunter's federal gun trial.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also admitted his company had 'demoted' stories about Hunter's laptop.
Still, several of the ex-intel officials doubled down on their 2020 memo, saying it was a 'patriotic move' that they don't regret.
'It served as nothing more than a warning letter of what we have known for decades: certain foreign governments - including Russia - continue to try and actively interfere in our domestic affairs and our guard must remain vigilant,' claimed attorney Mark S Zaid, who was representing seven signatories, the New York Post reports.

They make it sound like retribution, when it was simply right to do.
This will punish these intel rats, right where it hurts. Them retaining security clearances that were granted years ago, translates into more money earned. Whether it be for TV appearances or working a cush job in the military industrial complex. Or a related lobbying job.
You might not even score that lush n plush MIC job, without your precious security clearance.
Whatever happened to the computer store owner? Wasn’t he doxxed on gubmint media and persecuted by the DOJ? I assume he gets an annual IRS colonoscopy now.
The FBI sent government paid and pensioned personnel to get signatures that confirmed evidence was disinformation to help sway an election. Those individuals, especially those actively paid by the government, who participated in politics deserve more than losing security clearances. If a Republic is going to function the government cannot use the people’s money for political purposes.
But Trump is only *suspending* their security clearances
They clearly tried to maliciously influence the voting in a federal election ... their clearances should be REVOKED, and every one of the 51 saboteurs prosecuted for electoral interference!
The tax-paid intel chiefs wrote the exculpatory letter for one reason only-——
to give goofball Biden an important debate talking point.
The after-effects were enormous-——Hunter was now a hero,
Biden was beatified and Trump was relegated to loser status.
This is Not a punishment.
If you misuse your privileges for political reasons you should not have those privileges.
Well, they lied. They misinformed. They’re Democrat party operatives, not intelligence officials.
Send them on one-way junkets to a remote island with no outside communication. They can enjoy their pardons there.
BREAKING NEWS…..Biden pardons Fauci, Milley and all members of the J6 select committees.

President Biden issues pre-emptive pardons.
“That is why I am exercising my authority under the Constitution to pardon General Mark A. Milley, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the Members of Congress and staff who served on the Select Committee, and the U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee. The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense. Our nation owes these public servants a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country.”

Absolutely right!
Once no longer in office, there is no further need for security clearances.
Except to peddle secure information without being prosecuted.
A simple internet search reveals the difference between a suspension and the process needed for revocation.Try it.
