You can’t separate Chinese apps from the Chinese government. China believes in total warfare and getting information from apps is all part of that.
Every business in China is connected to the Chinese government to some extent. It’s wrong and, dare I say, unAmerican to bar our citizens from accessing Chinese apps, news sites, or other forms of communication.
Rand Paul is right. I hope and believe these censorship efforts will fail.
You can’t separate Chinese apps from the Chinese government.
But apparently, you CAN easily separate bioweapons research, banking, manufacturing, everything at Walmart, all of our prescription medications, I-phones, Ring doorbells, smart TVs, the US Army at the Wuhan military games, our universities filled with Chinese, Chinamen walking freely across the border in the hundreds of thousands, childbirth tourism, Boeing, solar panels, 400,000 acres of US farmland, rare earth minerals, Tesla, etc from the Chinese government.
Don’t expect me to get spun up about the Chinese threat until the US government also acts like it it’s a threat to Wall Street, our bankers, our CEOs, etc.
It’s like the same way Obama lectures us on rising seal levels, and then buys a house at the beach, or John Kerry lectures us about climate and flies a private jet.
You want me to be excited about some new threat, live like YOU believe it’s real, then maybe we can talk.
And we don’t do that?
