Gavin Newsom rocked by blood-soaked crisis gripping bay area city... as furious residents beg for help

A once quietly prosperous city in California's bay area has been gripped by a crime wave.

The FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program has named the city of Vallejo, just 30 miles outside San Francisco, as having one of the highest crime rates in the state.

The problem has become so bad that frustrated residents have started a petition pleading with Governor Gavin Newsom to increase the police presence in the area.

'As a resident of Vallejo, I am deeply concerned about the safety of my community. Vallejo is currently experiencing an alarming increase in crime rates,' Paula Conley, 55, wrote in a petition addressing the escalating crime in her hometown.

The city with a population of just 123,000 has seen a twofold increase in property crimes in the last four years, according to the FBI's Real-Time Crime Index.

But between 2014 to 2024, violent crimes remained steady - until they exploded at the start of 2024.

Vallejo had a staggering 23 murders, 12 fatal traffic incidents, 44 rapes, 86 sexual assaults, 503 aggravated assaults, 1,101 auto burglary/theft cases, 200 shootings and 352 domestic violence cases by November, according to Vallejo Police reports.

And locals say that in the last two months of the year, those numbers only increased.

On Christmas Eve, a public works crew discovered a human limb sticking out of a bag of construction debris at an alleged illegal dumping site, Open Vallejo reported.

And to mark Vallejo's most violent year ever, a New Year's Eve shooting left one person dead and brought up the city's 25th homicide in 2024.

Deaths during the year included Damien Davis, 34, who was shot dead on Sonoma Boulevard and Louisiana Street in July. In October, another man was found dead in the middle of the road Daniels Avenue, near Sacramento Street.

I was born and raised in Vallejo. Moved to Sacramento in 1989 and then moved to Texas in 1991. My 91 year old Dad and 87 year old Mom still live in the house I grew up in. House has been paid off for 50 years. Both were federal government employees at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Shipyard closed in 1995 and city went downhill fast.

Good luck with that.

The only thing to do is to attempt another recall and hopefully get Newsom removed as the Governor.

“”petition pleading with Governor Gavin Newsom to increase the police presence in the area.””

Why on earth are the residents pleading with Newsom for increased police presence? They certainly have a City Council and a Mayor and a County Board of Supervisors....Wouldn’t that be the normal place to lodge complaints and pleas for help??

You’re right. So pray for the wake up call.

- We need better GOP candidates.

- We need election integrity.

Hard to feel sorry for people getting exactly what they voted for.

Dems are so drunk on virtue signaling, political correctness, and wokeness they long ago lost their ability to either protect themselves by voting smartly or think for themselves.

Zodiac is back.

Stay away from Lake Berryessa.

Or if it’s now dry lakebed Berryessa, stay away from it anyway.

Grotesque amount of attention being given to CA residents, while East Palestine, NC and TN are being ignored.

CA votes liberal.
NC & TN view MAGA.

The Californians are loud whiners, DEMANDING help from FEMA and Trump who isn’t even POTUS yet, etc. One couple there was being interviewed who has issues with the hotel where they’re staying. (Looked pretty nice to me.)

NC & TN ask for help from FEMA, are ignored, so plug along doing their best to take care of themselves, sleeping in cars or tents.

A once quietly prosperous city...

Vallejo has been a sketchy low-rent part of the Bay Area basically since WW2 due to the imported laborers for the war effort. Not as bad as Oakland, but you get the drift.

**Deaths during the year included Damien Davis, 34, who was shot dead on Sonoma Boulevard and Louisiana Street in July.**
**Vallejo police have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the July fatal shooting of Damien Davis.

**Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Patrick Lamont Thompson last month. A patrol officer spotted Thompson standing at the corner of Sonoma Boulevard and Ohio Street. Officers assembled an arrest team, then asked an emergency dispatcher to grant them priority use of the radio before moving in at gunpoint. Thompson was taken into custody without incident.**

Got him. Took 2 months. Not smart enough to leave the area. ‘Without incident’- I think an army of cops made him chill out.
