. President-elect Donald Trump’s role in securing a hostage deal in Gaza before even taking office drew parallels with Iran’s release of American hostages in 1981.
On Wednesday, mediators announced a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, with one of the stipulations involving the release of 33 hostages. If conditions are met, all remaining hostages will be released in the planned second and third stages of the ceasefire, which would culminate in an end to hostilities. Trump’s role in securing their release before even entering office drew parallels to Iran’s release of hostages minutes after the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan on Jan. 20, 1981.

Ping me when the hostages and the remains of hostages are on a plane home.
If you need a media source to explain this to you, you’re an idiot.
One of the many reasons so many despise Carter — he let that happen and did nothing. Just like BeijingBiden.
Not sure why Trump is boasting of this deal. Hamas will release only a third of the hostages and none of the Americans. Israel would releases 30 times as many terrorists. And it commits the U.S. to helping rebuild Gaza. This is foolish.
This is on the Israeli government.
Trading thousands of random raped, tortured, and murdered Jews in the not so distant future for a handful of mostly corpses and a few hapless live victims.
Meanwhile, not a single Israeli who was negligent or worse on October 7 has suffered any serious consequence.
Has Jill presented Jo Jo a Metal of Freedumb for getting the hostages released yet?
Another possible parallel.......2nd. Inauguration may be indoors.

“Israel would releases 30 times as many terrorists. And it commits the U.S. to helping rebuild Gaza.”
Israel always have done this. Makes it easier to kill them later.
I give Hamas 72 hours after they get their POWs back before they break the deal.
The Gazans rob aid convoys all the time.
Interfering with relief aid is a war crime.
Israel can film the war crimes and arrest the culprits.
Within days it will have hundreds of war criminal Gazans in custody. Many have connections to HAMAS.
Eventually the Gazans will wise up and stop robbing aid convoys, but Israel will then have better bargaining chips in hostage negotiations.
“Who Will be The Next American Hostage?”
“Sep 22, 2023”
“In return for the release of the hostages, the United States canceled all claims it had against Iran, released $7.9 billion in Iranian assets frozen after the fall of the Shah and pledged not to interfere in the internal affairs of Iran. Iran relinquished all claims against the United States.
“Whether it was a courtesy afforded to his predecessor or not wanting to be associated with such a bad deal, Reagan sent Carter to meet with the returning hostage in Germany.”
“In 2016, President Obama agreed to exchange seven Iranian prisoners for four Americans. The deal was controversial because the Iranians were identified as terrorists. The United States dropped charges and international arrest warrants against 14 other Irani officials.
“In addition, the United States flew $700 million dollars in cash to Iran as the downpayment on $1.7 billion dollar to be paid later. The Obama administration denied that the payment was ransom”
“it is never a good policy to pay ransom. It encourages hostage taking. Who will be next?”

Note the article date.
“not a single Israeli who was negligent or worse on October 7 has suffered any serious consequence.”
The Gazans went periodically for operational training. They went so often that Israelis assumed October 7th was just another training day.
On October 7th, it was the real thing.
Israel probably can figure out who went to operational training time after time. Unless they have evidence to the contrary, the Israelis should assume the training was put to use.
Israel can round up the trained people without electronic alibis.
I assume young Gazans are like the young people I saw in Spain, ~50% of which were glued to cell phones.
“Makes it easier to kill them later.”
I read that the convicted terrorists were to be released to third countries.
He is bragging that his one sentence scared Hamas into making a very fast deal, and the world knows it. The fact that it is a poor deal is on those accepting it, the Israelis. (Hopefully they have other plans for the released scum, maybe a well-placed missile after the hostages are safe... but probably not, if it is only 1/3 of the hostages. Boo.)
