The hearings were disastrous... for Democrats.
The hearings for Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth were disastrous… for Democrats.
The game plan was to ‘genderify’ the hearings by focusing on the infidelity allegations and the question of women in combat, and to let female Dem Senate members take the lead. The outcome was Sen. Elizabeth Warren and a few others scolding a calm Hegseth. The optics of it were bad again… for Democrats.
Usually it’s not too difficult for senators to make a nominee sweat. But that requires doing research and asking probing, damning questions, while remaining in control. Since much of what members of Congress do is hold hearings, this should be a basic skill, and yet somehow they blew it. It’s never a good situation when the interrogators are more flustered than the subject. And Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a former lawyer (and horribly unpleasant human being) usually maintains better self-control and message discipline, came off as bitterly deranged.
Few people would have been watching the hearings anyway, but the Senate Dems knew they needed just a few moments to go viral and then get picked up late night shows who would spin them up again to make them go viral. It’s telling that those moments didn’t occur. At least not any that are useful to them.
The larger takeaway is that the Dems still haven’t recovered from the election and don’t have a plan. The things they care about, like women in combat, are of very little interest to most Americans. Dems are struggling to bridge a gap on social issues that is no longer pointing in their direction.
Or a clue.
People think women are not suitable for combat. One of the reasons is that they’re too emotional. Democrat women countered that point by yelling, screaming, and borderline crying.
They still believe Trump won because of racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, etc. The longer they go without understanding the American people the better it is for our side.
Couple of times when certain dumbocrats were acting like 6 year olds I thought Pete was gonna bust out laughing.
Here’s a man that has more than likely endured withering fire on the battlefield and they thought a few saggy assed alcohol soaked self entitled half useless politicians were going to rattle him?
Losers they are ALL.
The issue isn’t that they’re able to pull a trigger or not but it’s been demonstrated that co-mingled troops create problems as the men will tend to protect the women taking them out of the plan of engagement and if a man is hurt, another man has to drag them out because they’re typically heavier for a woman to handle. But I guess if they identify as a man, they become capable?

Their only plan is to throw red meat to their base. (Yeah I know most of them are Vegans)
The reality is men are better suited for some jobs just like women are better suited for some.
God made men physically stronger for a reason which means fighting on the battlefield and carrying people out of burning buildings etc. is for the most part a job males are best at......regardless of what a lesbian fire chief in Southern California thinks.
They DO have a plan, but it is not working, and it is the following:
1. Line up all Democrats to be against the nominee, then pull 4 RINOs over to their side.
2. To do that with nominees, you have to make them look totally unfit as even RINOs tend to vote for nominees (for a president from either party). It will be personal, if there’s any angle that might work, and they will always claim ‘unqualified’ for the nominees they oppose.
They have two problems with the plan:
1. Fetterman - now they may need 5 RINO votes and the number of RINOs in the Senate has dropped over the years.
2. RINOs themselves - RINOs have been told that they’ll be actively primaried if they gave Biden’s horrible nominees a pass, but block Trump’s far more qualified nominees. Joni Ernst seems to have learned that lesson in a very public manner when she tried going Tribal against Hegseth.
I wonder if Mazie Hirono’s nickname is Corn Pop. Maybe Joe beat up Mazie many years ago.
Observably, the majority of women lack the physical capabilities of the weakest man to pass the physical fitness scores.
Even fewer have what if takes, physically, to succeed in combat arms.
Some do, more power to em. My mom was a USN WAVE code breaker in WW2. She was stateside. Go mom! My dad was a naval aviator. Greatest generation.
Now, do they have the psych profile to succeed in combat arms? Likely fewer still do.
Kudos to the ones who meet and surpass the physical and mental *STANDARDS* that men must meet.
Now, throw in the “she’s been captured by the ISIS forces” scenario. There’s nothing good there, ever.
Women have shown they can succeed as military aviators. As long as they have what it takes, go for it. But *NOT* to meet a quota. And again, there’s the “she parachuted safely but was captured by ISIS/Cartel/etc forces.” Really bad outcomes and optics there.
There’s pages of MOS’s that are well suited, truly, for men AND women. No need to keep them out of the military, just be realistic about roles.
IMHO, as a practice, keep them away from combat arms and other roles at the tip of the spear. For the VERY select few women who check all the boxes, and get their on their merit, go for it.
All of these senators are from deep-blue states - this was all done to placate The Folks Back Home. They get to keep their phony-baloney jobs now. We can expect them all to eventually die in office.
Their time of actually having any influence is gone and they know it.

I think it's the other way around. It's not the women who a people think are too emotional, it's the people back home in society that are the problem.
I agree with the first part that women are physically different than men and most aren't fit enough for the endurance required in extended combat. But that's not the real issue regarding women in combat.
The real reason is society's aversion to rape and sexual humiliation that uncivilized enemies have used wantonly when capturing their opponents. The barbarians of the past would attack a village, slaughter the men, and impregnate the women to spread their genes and expand their empires.
The western world is inculcated to protect women as the "giver" of families; it's women who bear the future generations of a people, and it's the men who protect and defend those families. If women in combat are captured by enemies, the people back home will fear that they will be abused in ways that men never will, and the military doesn't want the extra burden of having to protect the morale of the homeland if women become hostages to the war effort. Just look at the propaganda war that's been going on in Israel over the last year to see the impacts on a nation.
That's why there is such a societal aversion to women in combat.

Sure they do. It’s to destroy the chances of
President Trump to improve peoples’ lives after four years of Biden and his administration screwing up things. Then to steal the 2028 election and continue to march to their real goal of turning our Constitutional Republic into a totalitarian state.
Biden was just the supreme idiot puppet. The powers that be made sure they had brain dead people elected all the way down to governors of states.
